made a very good point in a statement in his original posting;

" "Clarence Coyote and Project Courier".  It's a very intriguing, romantic, and sometimes funny story about an 8-year-old coyote cub from 2018 who accidentally travels back to 1960 in a time machine belonging to the U.S. Government.  These two are just some of several classic logos Clarence would see in that past bygone year.  I'm sure they would look as strange and curious to him as his cellphone and laptop computer look to his adopted family and friends in 1960.

I remember as a kid, there were lots of cars, American cars especially, having a lot of chrome art such as medallions and emblems.

Europe had many that were little figurines in their luxury builders. Back then they were treated as art more then today.

The "lady angel wings" hood ornament was a classic for Rolls Royce.

Not to mention Jaguar's hood ornament of the pouncing jaguar.

I've seen pictures of those classic cars of the 30's and 40's, and those hood ornaments looked beautiful.  I especially liked the swans on those Cadillacs with the light-up wings.  There was once a catalog back in the 70's that sold parts and accessories for various cars.  It also featured those classic hood ornaments, pinstripe decals, and wire wheel covers which gave modern cars that classic look.  Too bad it's out of business now.

Very nice artwork.  Looks a lot like the one I drew.  I did an image search for the classic logos, and the ones I got were either the Indian silhouette or the arrowhead with the star.

The human form of this one was actually installed on early 1950s Pontiacs.

I think it was in the 1957 model year that it was replaced by an ornament resembling a jet plane.

They were also dangerous when they hit someone, if your lucky enough too roll over the hood (more survivable) they'd catch you and rip your body up.

Maybe so, but drivers and pedestrians back then were usually more responsible for their actions.

That's what they all say, proportionally more were injured/killed back then. Numbers are more but percentages are down. People today are no different today as back then.
