I talked to some folks at Geek Squad at Best Buy today about uploading TOR.

I actually had TOR downloaded last Friday morning and didn't know it...Although I did have the icon on my desk top.
They told me at Bust Buy that if I didn't have it downloaded, the icon wouldn't have been on my desktop.
What it was, I didn't know TOR was activated by double left click like you do with Internet Explorer and Google Chrome...I had been right clicking the icon and looking for a prompt in a window to click for "Turn on TOR" or "activate TOR", or something like that.

Also what I didn't know was, you have to have Firefox to use TOR...I uploaded that a while ago

As I am uploading this submission, I think I am doing it on the TOR browser...Not 100% sure...But I think 99% sure.

Before I accessed Inkbunny, I did see "private browser" in the tab when I opened it.

When I accessed Inkbunny, I had to type the whole site name. I didn't just type "www.i" and have the full site name appear.

On Google Chrome, I can just type "M" and get "moyomongoose" when I'm logging into IB...Here I had to type my entire user name out.

And the surrounding background on the browser I am using seems to look a little different...So I guess that is an indication I am now successfully using TOR as a browser.

* However; Strange thing though. TOR doesn't seem to be letting me access Youtube. I get a page that says "unusual activity detected"...I tried it several times...I guess Youtube is out of the question except for accessing it on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome
.

Well, I have been on IB with this browser for about an hour now.
After I post this, I'm going to log back out. Then I'll return in a few minutes on the Google Chrome browser.

If I was actually on the TOR browser, this test of it would be successful.

EDIT: I have noticed the text fonts for the submission titles bewteen the browser I was on and on this browser are different...
The text font for submission titles on the browser I believe was TOR looked more like old typewriter Georgia text like in old school text books from the 1950s.
The text font for submission titles on the Google Chrome browser is more of an Arial text like what you see on road signs.

As for the question, "Have I actually figured out how to master the use of the TOR browser", I will know for sure the next time any site I commonly use comes under a DDoS attack, and that site is also TOR supported...Whether I can access that site while their IP servers are still under attack will be the acid test to that question.

At the time I posted this, I was on this site through what I believe is the TOR browser from 9:40 pm to 10:20 pm Eastern Daylight Time Wednesday 3/11/2020 (roughly estimating).

* As for not being able to access Youtube, I had surmised that because Google owns Youtube, opening up Youtube also opens Google which is also a browser. And trying to open two browsers at one time don't work.
I found out that was not the case though. I logged off and went back to my desktop. I then open Internet Explorer, and from there I was able to access Youtube.
So that dispels the theory I had as to why I couldn't access Youtube from the other browser.

After this site came back up shortly past midnight between Thursday March 5th and Friday March 6th from 4 days of a DDoS attack, what I have depicted below as the actual journal list from this site was what I thought I was going to see as I got back to reading journals.
However, much to my surprise, there wasn't that vacant skip between aprox 4:30 pm Sunday eastern time, and 12:30 Friday after midnight like I was expecting to notice.
There were artists who actually posted journals, art and comments on those days the site was down.

When I browsed 4 days back through the journals, I even noticed the journals that were posted right after the site went down, where artists posted;
"Whats going on? Is their something going on with the site".

"On the DDOS Attack. It could be me, but I feel like the asshole who attacked Inkbunny must've been the same guy behind the DDOS attack for FurAffinity.".

"Did We Have a Problem Now? Yes we did! IB's Server is Under Intermittent DDoS Attack! Be Alert!"

I wondered, "The site was down. How were they able to post anything when I couldn't even access the site? That's not even possible...Or is it?".
The only thing I myself was getting was a page that said, "This site can not be accessed".

Here's how I actually thought the journal list was going to skip when the site came back up...along with art postings and comments;

Back to the puppyverse ? (travelling to Scotland)
"I've been planning this trip for nearly 6 months, everything is paid and I should see Fiona Sunday afternoon. Sadly, France is threatening to block transportations in response to the Coronavirus, and if they do I do not know what I can do to still make it to Scotland... it's worrying me a lot."

Until I saw things posted by others during those 4 days, I had thought the site was completely defunct for those 4 days, which this depiction of the journal list suggests.

When I asked those who were able to access the site when it was down, they told me about TOR, IPv6, and about those with phone internet being able to get on an alternate server.
My not knowing about those things, for those 4 days, I had to settle for "no cubs in sexual situations" FurAffinity...
...Not to mention FA does not have features like multiple upload postings, and BBCode insert of drawings into lines of text (the features I often use)...And their site can not accommodate stories being wording of 100,000 characters.
Thus I inquired around for information on setting up a TOR browser.

I was told that TOR is commonly use by those who want to hide their identity associated with deviant behavior.
Of course, others knowing what I do on an art site is not an issue with me...Never was, and never will be.
My material is not illegal in the country in which I reside, and my material is not defamatory against others to begin with...The closest I come to defamation is cartoons about politicians, which I have no problem posting those through Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

My only reason for getting TOR is to have an alternate way to detour around obstacles caused by DDoS and other attacks against websites I use....So I don't be locked out of a site again for days, only to find out when the site comes back up, that others were able to access it when I was getting error pages.
In fact, I wouldn't even have a need to use the TOR browser, unless I want to access a site while their IP servers are down.
The drawing in this posting pretty much explains that.
No ulterior motives here, being that someone has already commented on that.

To those who told me about those alternate browsers, I take the time out to say, "Thank you".

Google is really nosy.   Though I generally have problems just with the search engine, not often (though it's happened a couple of times before) with Youtube.

Google likes to data mine and since the IP is bogus, that hurts them.   None of the other search engines do this (well, not often.  I think occasionally it does, but it NEVER or almost never has let me use the Google search engine in Tor, but keeps giving me the "suspicious activity" error message.

Besides, GenYoutube lets you view the Youtube videos (even the ones age restricted) anyway without having to go to Youtube itself.  (GenYoutube sometimes seems to have less-than-benign ads, though, as, every once in a while, one of the ads is infected and tries to hurt me (usually with a fake tech support or minor virus that my antivirus easily swats down.)  However, I don't think Tor lets it do that, as it's strongly anti-scripting.

GenYoutube is how I view vore videos without bothering with having to sign in to Youtube in Tor to view age restricted stuff (which pretty much all of the vore stuff, even down to the ridiculous (that it's restricted like that) vore stuff like the Pelican trying to eat Marlin and Dory in Finding Nemo, which is rated G for goodness sake!)

GenYoutube also lets you download Youtube videos too.

There is the downside that sometimes the site may log you out or think you're a bot if you use Tor.  Some sites have this issue, though I know IB ISN'T one of them.   I believe that FA had given me some issues in the past, though, lately, when I use it with Tor, it's fine.

I could understand with the attacks FA has had, why they would become more TOR friendly.

You should know that Tor is a project funded jointly but US and Russian federal agencies, and that it's used to funnel data into databases for public surveillance.

You should also know that if you think you're hiding bad behaviors (and you know which ones I'm talking about -- we've all seen  your art) by using Tor, you're mistaken.

My reason for getting TOR wasn't to hide any activities. That's not even an issue with me.

My one and only reason for getting TOR was so if any site I frequently use, including this one, ever got another DDoS attack against their IP servers lasting for days, I'd still have a way to access the site...I wouldn't be locked out of the site, only to find out later that others were able to access it.

Until this latest DDoS attack happened, I hadn't even entertained the notion of setting up an alternate browser...even if I had known about them.
