It was a nice early morning, a Saturday to be exact. The first day of the weekend for a handful of kids. The eldest of the siblings, a gator named John, was waking up with a yawn, usually the type to wake up early to start his day. It wasn’t entirely for his own purpose though, as John was a helper to his fathers, because both of them worked quite a bit, he helped take care of the kids during the day, making sure they’re up, fed and more, while his fathers took care of the kids in the afternoon after work. John stretched a little and moved himself to get out of bed, looking around as he stood and walked out of his room. To his surprise, the house was for once very peaceful, meaning the kids were all still asleep. He smiled peacefully and nodded as he made his way down to the kitchen, seeing a note from one of his parents, picking it up and reading it over.

“Sorry for not waking you or telling you before I left, didn’t want to disturb you since you need your rest. We left a bit early. We will be home around 6:00. Take care of your brothers and be careful if you take them anywhere. Love, papa Inferno.

P.S. your grandfather will be stopping by to spend some time with you kids, try not to give him too much grief.”

John smiled a bit and nodded as he went to the fridge after pocketing the note, looking for something simple and easy to make his brothers for breakfast, as he grabbed out some eggs and pancake mix, before going to the garage and opening the freezer to grab out a pack of bacon. John usually tried to make a variety of things since he had so many brothers, and it wasn’t easy but he usually managed. The young man went back to the kitchen, to see one of his brothers already up and setting up to help cook. It was his brother Damien, a white wolf, with black ears and dark blue eyes. Damien was the second oldest of the kids, a senior in high school. He didn’t help as much, but when he was around and not occupied he tended to give his elder brother a hand. “Morning John. Thought you were slacking today so I came to start breakfast. Guess we had the same idea.” The wolf chuckled as he started the stove and cracked quite a few eggs.

“I would never slack, unless of course I’m sick or Chris and mike keep me up all night.” John returned and chuckled as he opened the pack of bacon and lying it out on a cooking sheet, turning on the over to start preheating it. “By the way, don’t let me forget that Chris and Albus have to go to the doctor today. And we should take them to the park later, just to let them run around a bit before dad gets home so they don’t wear him out even more.” John chuckled as he slid the food into the oven.

Damien nodded as he grabbed out his phone and started typing, a smirk on his face as johns phone vibrated in his pocket. He blinked and grabbed it seeing a text from Damien, that read:

“Don’t forget to take Chris and Albus to their check up.”

John rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but laugh as he did ask for that, almost quite literally. John smiled softly as he went up the steps while Damien cooked so he could go check on some kids. He opened the first door up the stairs and peaked in. He saw the two boys younger than Damien, twin brothers Mike and Kevin. Mike snored softly as he curled up in his bed hugging his pillow, the boy wasn’t too tall, his fur was light yellow and his eyes were different colors, his right eye was Green, the left eye was Red. In the bed on the other side was a pitch black wolf, sprayed out across his mattress with his sheets kicked off and his pillow unseen. John chuckled seeing Kevin only in a pair of white briefs as the boy slept in his underwear, a mystery as to how he wasn’t cold at the moment. John gently fixed Kevin and tucked him back in, looking around noticing the pillow wasn’t around the bed. He was a bit confused before he knelt down and saw it under the bed, he chuckled noticing this. He gently lifted Kevin’s head and set the pillow under before setting his head down on it, rubbing it gently as he silently made his way to the door. He smiled at the two, because despite being thirteen, he couldn’t help but find the unidentical brothers very cute. He smiled gently and left the room, silently shutting the door. He then walked to the room right across and pushed the door open.

Inside, he saw another of his brothers just getting up with a yawn and a stretch, his tail stretching out as well as it swayed softly, the fluffy boy sitting in bed being a dark brown fox, in a white tank top, with his ears and tail tip being white to match. This was Chris, the next youngest down the line, being only ten years old, this boy in particular was very close to John, because of Infernos busy schedule, he had a hard time spending time with all of his kids but he did make it work, but John filled a void that was left whenever Inferno worked long hours, but he didn’t mind. Chris yawned once more before looking up and his mood immediately shot to joy as a smile appeared and his tail wagged fast “John!” He smiled and got up, rushing over and jumping into the man's arms, John smiling as he caught him, but putting a finger to his lips to shush the boy, motioning to another bed in the room. Like Mike and Kevin, Chris was also a twin, another fox sleeping his cares away was in the bed, this was Calvin. Almost everything was identical except his fur. Despite Chris’s dark fur, Calvin had light brown, almost yellowish fur, the two were almost spitting images of one another. Chris remembered and covered his mouth, before nodding as John chuckled and carried the boy out, his hand rested against the boys bottom to hold him up, closing the door with his free hand as he gently set Chris down. “Alright kiddo I have a task for you, go help Damien finish breakfast while I check up on the others okay?” He asked as Chris gave a nod and quickly rushed down the steps, John chuckling gently at the boy as he stretched a bit and headed down the hall to another room. Next to his bedroom was a nine year old dragons bedroom. Inside was a young red dragon, a bit small for his age but very skilled and intelligent to balance it out. This was Drax, he was born a bit early and because of it doctors said it affected his height and growth process as a whole so he’d grow awkwardly his whole life. That never stopped him though as he worked through it and was the top of his class despite everything. John smiled seeing he was fine and happily sleeping, and decided to let him rest.

Before he could move on, another door opened and out walked a jackal not, pure black fur, but was very scrawny, minus a few noticeable things. This was Albus, he was a year younger than Drax, putting him at eight years old. He was taller than Drax due to formerly mentioned reasons and he always teased Drax about it. But Drax always retaliated in an amusing way. One might wonder if Albus enjoyed the retaliation considering he continues to pester despite everything. Albus was about to walk by after waving but was stopped, blinking some as he looked at John. “Forgetting something Albus?” He chuckled as Albus was only in a pair of yellow briefs, the boy seemingly not aware of why he should at least wear a shirt like Chris. Albus just shrugged not realizing as John rolled his eyes and motioned back to the room. Albus groaned but went, as John gave the rebellious boy a slap to the butt, showing that his backside was one of the non scrawny parts as it jiggled a bit due to being a bit big. He yelped in surprise but didn’t seem to protest as he went to change. John nodded and stood, glad that all of his siblings were relatively fine as he made his way back to Mike and Kevin’s door, knocking on Calvin’s as he passed by. “Boys time to get up.” He called “breakfast in ten minutes.” He said as he heard a couple groans but some shuffling showing they were up.

He headed back down to see Chris happily sitting at the table in his seat, peacefully kicking his feet as he watched Damien who was just finishing cooking. Seems Damien would rather have Chris sit and out of the way than to help, but Chris didn’t seem to mind. John smiled and grabbed plates and cups and began setting the table, glancing to Chris “so bud, sleep well?” He asked as Chris looked up and nodded.

“Yeah! I had a fun dream of us at the park. It was fun swinging. I kinda wanna go soon.” He said as John chuckled and nodded, rubbing the cubs head as he set plates down. “Well you’re in luck. We will be going to the park right after lunch.” He smiled as Chris raised his arms and cheered happily, the boy grinning. “After we get yours and Albus’s check ups out of the way.” He said as the boy's attitude quickly shifted to a pout and some dread.

“No! I don’t wanna see a doctor.” He said grumpily as that changed real quick as John looked at him, seeing the boy cross his arms in a huff of protest. John rolled his eyes as he kept putting the plates down, before grabbing the cups. Chris noticed they were adding another place extra, and he wondered if his dad was home or not. John however interrupted his thoughts. “You have to see a doctor bud, it’s for your own good.” He told him as Chris just whined and was about to argue until John gave a sudden stern look. “But if you want to argue, I can just tell Papa Inferno and Kenta that you were bad and we won’t go.” He said firmly, the boy whining with a teary expression.

“That's not fair!” Chris said sadly and jumped up stomping his foot, before he just stopped and sniffled with a pout as he sat down knowing if he continued that, he’d end up in more trouble. “Fine…” He sniffled accepting defeat as he rested his head on the table and avoided looking at John, clearly upset as John sighed and rubbed his head, giving it a gentle kiss as Mike walked down. He figured it best not to even ask and went to see Damien. John finished setting the table as the doorbell was heard, John gently nudging Chris. “Wanna go get that?” He asked smiling as he knew who it was. Chris just slumped a bit and slid from his chair, trudging to the door as John listened, hearing it unlock. When it opened, he heard a surprised gasp followed by a happy laugh as Chris squealed in delight. “Grandpa!” He called out as he was carried back into the dining room by a tall grey wolf, a muscular toned man taller than John, a bit stern looking but a clearly loving and happy man. This was Infernos’ father Lyle, a military vet that looked decent for his age. Despite having grandkids, he wasn’t extremely old, as he had Inferno at seventeen so he was fairly young when his kid was born.

“Hey there gramps, good to see you.” John smiled and hugged the man who held Chris, smiling at the two as he saw Chris’s mood flip drastically as Lyle bounced him in his arm. “Your pops said I should come by and I was gonna come at lunch but figured why not come early, spend the day with my grandsons. You are getting so big kid, surprised you are already almost done with college, I remember when you were barely able to walk and still needed a diaper.” He teased as John blushed and rolled his eyes but chuckled, the others laughing and waving to their grandfather. “I had a feeling you’d come early, so we set you a place for breakfast.” He said as the rest of the boys came filing down except for Drax, who John usually let sleep in for varying reasons. John helped Damien bring the food to the table and got everyone served up quickly. Once everyone was sat, they dug in.

Lyle smiled at the good food as he enjoyed what he was eating, the kids also chowing down as Damien smiled, he was proud of his cooking skills and so whenever he saw the rest enjoying it, it made him happy. “So, what’s on your boys agenda today, since Inferno and Kenta are both working away. Anything planned?” He asked as Chris quickly spoke up. “John said he’d take us to the park after we had lunch and got our check ups!” He said brightly, derailing away from what he was doing before Lyle showed up, but John didn’t say anything. “Oh? Well that sounds fun. Glad I came early then, could always use the extra hand shuffling these kids everywhere. I’m assuming Bio is with his aunt today?” He asked, getting a nod from John.

“Alright then. Let’s get this food eaten, then let's get all these kids ready for the day.” Lyle smiled as he watched the kids all start eating quicker, Chris spilling the news of the park got everyone eager. John grabbed his phone to send a couple of texts to his dads to let them know what they were doing, and to send out some texts to other people as well.

-

After everyone had finished, Lyle helped gather the plates and Damien started getting the kids upstairs to get them ready, trading with John so he could do dishes. Lyle smiled and walked in seeing John washing their stuff, rolling up his sleeves to get to work helping. John looked up and smiled seeing the older wolf, who looked over and rubbed his head. “So, with school almost out, worried about being thrown into the real world?” He asked as he started rinsing and drying dishes. John shrugged a bit as he washed, scrubbing the hard to get stuff off, before passing it over to be rinsed and dried. “A bit. I am honestly unsure what I plan to do, I don’t intend to leave anytime soon as with Dad and Kenta having such busy work schedules, I want to help as much as possible. Hopefully dad gets that promotion though, because when he does, Kenta and quit that job and be home more, which I think all of them would greatly appreciate.” He told his grandfather as he finished the last of the dishes and rinsed his hands, draining the sink.

Lyle smiled as he dried his hands after finishing and gently hugging his grandson. “You have a good heart kid, I’m proud of you for being so thoughtful of your parents and your brothers. Don’t be afraid to pick up some job though, I can easily spend more time here and help Damien, and your uncles and aunt would probably love to help out. So think things through more and make sure you have a plan.” He smiled a bit and gave the young man a pat to the backside to embarrass him as John yipped and chuckled. “Now, lets go get those kids and get going.” He said and walked with John to see everyone getting their shoes on, Drax being carried by Damien as he walked to the kitchen and packed up Drax’s stuff to eat in the car. Lyle smiled and traded with Damien, taking Drax and walking the kids out to the car, while John and Damien locked up.

John tossed Damien the keys, the wolf panicking as he stumbled to catch them, looking at John wide eyed. “Don’t give me that look, you have your drivers test coming up soon, so you need the practice. You’ve been doing fine so far so just relax and show us you're ready.” John smiled as he walked Damien to the car. The teen gulped nervously but nodded as he got into the driver seat, John climbing into the back as Lyle was sitting passenger, and he wasn’t about to fight with his grandfather over that. Chris smiled as John buckled in next to him as he scooted closer and leaned in as he shifted a bit in his seat belt. John softly smiled and rubbed his back as he watched Damien start the car, knowing Chris was over his little tantrum finally. Damien took a deep breath and backed the car down the driveway, Lyle directing him as needed, being careful not to spook the teen. Once the car was on the road, Lyle smiled and told Damien “Now just ease yourself up to speed and we are good.” He said and smiled as Damien did as told and they were off. Their first stop, Chris and Albus’s Check-up

A happy family [Chapter 2]
A family of brothers, their two dads, and their friends and family. A cute little sub story that is a parallel universe to the already planned out Tale to the King, starring the oldest Adams son, John, and how he helps raise his handful of brothers while his dads work their hardest to give the boys a good life. This story will follow the day to day lives of the family, involve a lot of cute moments, fun moments, and even some sadder moments, relating to how John feels about everything and how two parents always working can really affect a kid. This story won't ever get super dark however so do not worry.

(Disclaimer: Story will have moments of spanking, romantic situations and very tame sexual moments between romantic partners, but won't be over the top or a main focus)
