Kyara and Lorelei walking back to town where some unfortunate highwaymen are blocking their path. Kyara being one of the strongest person in the world, using her large great sword that she can wield in one hand and some gaia psynergy will crush and destroy all that stand in her way, while the more carefree Lorelei, who is usually non violent, is a spell caster who won't hesitate to act when their lives are threatened, though she was kind of absent minded and ended up setting things on fire that were not meant to be.
Kyara and Lorelei were both survivors of the slave trade when they were younger and have grown to depend on each other since they first met. When Kyara was around 8 her village was attacked and most of her family was murdered while she was captured. She was sold into slavery to work as a servant/maid for a noble family who were very demanding and would berate her if their demands were not met. Latter on when Kyara was about 14, the family bought a second younger slave named Lorelei where Kyara was responsible to train her. Kyara was initially cold to Lorelei as she was more of a klutz and do things wrong, making the family abuse Kyara more as in their terms was not doing her job in training Lorelei. However Kyara realized that Lorelei was just nervous and scared about what happened to her and since Kyara had basically the same past, she was able to get Lorelei to open up to and became a shoulder to cry on. For the next couple of years they were able to grow closer and confide in each other, basically becoming sisters. However one day when Kyara was 16, Lorelei did something that made one of their masters very angry, enough that she started to get severely beaten. Something in Kyara snapped as she jumped on top top of their master and started clawing and ripping him apart, eventually killing him. Knowing she would probably be executed for the murder of their former master, Kyara grabbed a still shocked Lorelei and fled as fast and as far as they could. Laying low, they moved from town to town trying to get to the bordering country where they learned slavery was illegal and they took in slavery refugees. When they crossed, Kyara and Lorelei were welcomed in open arms, even though Kyara had to come clean about what she did to her former master, but they were understanding and told her that her past didn't matter, as long as she doesn't kill relentlessly here. Kyara and Lorelei found refuge in one of the city slums, where Kyara would take on odd jobs (usually ones that required violence as she started to gain a blood lust and a sadistic nature) to support them both. She eventually learned about the Contract Hunters, and decided to take on the trials to become one of their members. After passing, she would take on contracts related to the bandit groups that raided both her and Lorelei's villages, killed their families and sold them into slavery, while earning way more money doing so, giving both herself and Lorelei a better life. Lorelei was hired on by the Hunters to be one of their registers where she would compile and distribute Contracts for Hunt. Lorelei would sometimes go on lower grade Hunts with Kyara so they could spend some time together, as with Kyara's normal Hunts, she was away for a while and they would rarely see each other. Kyara is very protective of Lorelei and with her sadistic nature, anyone that would dare harm her, would suffer a slow and painful death
