*mixed feelings*, on one hand i wouldn't put it past that old dog to attack again if stella gives him a chance to do so, on the other hand he's defensless at this second and attacking him specially with an axe now that he's disarmed would not look good,, sure you could knock him unconcious, there is reasonable motive to think he would try and use lethal force again if allowed to, but some how i doubt this story is going to let stella ko the old man, the twists and turns have me on hooks in wonder and excitement, waiting for the next page is probably the hardest part, kudos on one of the best non adult story comics i've ever seen

but he will get up and attack if she walks away, so it would still be self defense. The problem is proving his history of attacking when your back is turned in court.

I think the self defense part could still be argued, as she believes both her life and her friend's life are in immediate danger and as long as that old fucker lives, they'll still be in danger. There isn't anyone that we've seen around to witness this, so in the end, it's the survivors against the court and with the injuries they all have, I don't think there's a jury alive that would convict them.

Might be hard to argue, but you do have a point about if they're the only witnesses.
That said, what's actually going to happen is already decided; this is all a story they're remembering when they're both adults that have come back to the area because the old bastard had only just died then. So he's definitely going to get away with his life at this point.

He wins if she gives him what he really wants plus the cops may be on their way and it wouldn't look too good and too much trouble if they show up just as she drops the ax on the old idiot. I'd say break a few things (arms, hands, legs maybe a swat in the crotch) before burying the axe next to his head so he'll have to live through the agony as she gets Evie and walks away from all that.

As much as he deserves it and as good as it would feel, the cops are already probably on their way to stop a murderer. Killing him now will just cause more grief.

*Proceeds to yank the axe out of the Stella's hands.* No. Let me do it.
*Chugs down Scrumpy to get Throughly Sloshed, before swinging at his legs.* Gonna keel you and I'll keep killin' you, cause you're a be dead and I'll ne'er, cause you're a be dead, and I'm gonna kill you.

I'm thinking she doesn't do it. Since they had to come back so many years later. I think by leaving him alive and alone she will truly win. She proves she is better then him, she didn't need to kill him. And he is left to die slowly in his own squalor as he finds he can't do anything for himself. And she needs to leave on a line like, "You aren't even worth the effort." Just to drive the point home how little she thinks of him.

Inviting someone to do a murder is agitation...kind of pressing the person, leaving no option. If it's validated, the "oppressed murderer" can be pardoned...also hospitalized in a psychiatry to recover from the mental damage.
Just aim for the limbs with the dull part of the ax...four times! >:3

It wasn't an advice, just a desperate "reaction-suggestion" to this horrible situation...but I think, incapacitating your abuser/attacker for a long time if not for life, thus making them unable to do harm to you or to your loved ones and to anyone weaker then them (and most likely suffer for the abuse outside the law system) is superior to killing them off... ...In this comic the abused ones were physically attacked, bearing the scars. It would be hard (not impossible tho') to prove the agitation-part in a courtroom, IF that pardon-option is still in action in that state/country...Beating a lone abuser into a wheelchair is less crime then murder, so (maybe) a "better then murder" option in the case above in the eyes of law enforcement.
Then again, this comic is fiction (I hope!) and my character is an evil black dragoness. I would have waaaaaaay to much fun to just vitess the torture of such a horrible person (done somewhat by myself and mostly by the torture room personnel) for a few weeks/months long, before ordering my kitchen personnel to take over, and make a meal out of him that is worthy of my magnificence! >:)

Estella, bring that ax down next to his head and tell him that he isn’t worth it. Then take that ax with you as you check with Evie to make sure that she’s alright. That will leave him in shock that you had the strength to spare him in the heat of the moment and leave him without a means to do anything about it.

The literal only mixed feeling I have on this is based on that second to last panel. He's straight up egging her on to go through with it cause at this point I'm thinkin' either he wants it or he legit is seeing if she'd even do it. Which let's be honest anyone, even if you're a saint, would go through with it given who this turd is. Best case scenerio she nearly cuts his head off and he shit's himself calling the fucker's bluff.

I hope she doesn't kill him. I hope she does hit him with a punch or a bitch slap, but not kill. She's better, then that. The boy is watching this, if she kills him, then bad examples will happen to them.

I went back and looked and I did remember seeing the ax and on page 55 you see it on the ground beside some flowers, and they did say the he died one year ago so he does not die here

Alright, place your bets! Modern storytelling conversions put the odds as follows: A) Nope! Not gunna do it because I'm a better person --80% B) Goes Lumberjack on his ass --5% C) Evie kills him instead --1% D) Random Act of God interferes (i.e. Struck by Lightning) --4% E) Plot Point A followed rapidly by plot point D --10%
