A long overdue quickie comic of Gene and Tasli, made in response to a user asking why I don't color Gene's pad (when one habitually draws cartoons for the internet, these are the types of questions one can expect).

An answer I had was giving Gene a pink paw pad would look like he stepped in bubble gum (which, ironically, is the name of the shade I often use for 'pink', albeit, I didn't in this case). ^^
This effect would likely be negated if I drew 'beans' as opposed to a 'pad in the middle', but the former's too much (unnecessary) detail for what should be simple cartoons (IMHO).

Anyway, there's (what's likely) an abstruse comic here, so let's interpret it!

Cartoon animals go barefooted, and, inevitably, they step on or in unpleasant substances and things. Such is what's befallen poor Gene here,

GENE: "Oh, no!"

TASLI: "What?"

GENE (having removed the gum from his foot): "Gum!"

TASLI: *steps away---so much drama over a trifle thing---toi, toi, toi!
