Its a bit too steep of a curve. Yesterday she had no idea what love was or how the prophecy could be fulfilled, today she acts like she has been trying for 20 years and its just impossible and refuses to as much as hope for it to happen. Well you got to understand how being conditioned to believe something should happen,and then when it does not happen,affects how things are seen.Here she was to believe that if she just laid in bed with the "lock" that everything will be fine and all the problems will go away.Now Shen here is wanting to help but Zaph here is now believing all is for naught.

She has a general idea of what the prophecy is, and she's never been raised on the ideals of love. She was raised to basically be a pawn to be used in its fulfillment, and thats how everyone around her viewed it and imposed it onto her. Also, it wasn't until the night before that she even started to grasp the concept that the prophecy is not entirely direct. And to be fair, for an ancient-based civilization, a venture like that could be costly. Plus she's been raised her whole life that she is part of this prophecy, so trying for 20 years sounds not so farfetched.
