An Embarrassing Date?
As students go, Minerva is more artistic than the others. If it about art, she will study it. History and Social Studies? There is Art in it to study. Language and Communications studies? There is Art in it. Mathematics? There is art in that as well. Science? It depends on the science but there is Art in there as well. Gym/Swimming? Look at the form and function of how the body moves, now that's art! Thus when studying Ancient Greek and Roman History, Minerva went for the art of the times, and needing to do a project on the Olympian Athletes. But she needed a model, she needs to choose somebody who would not think that this is a Yiffy Date, but who would be willing to model for her as she draws from sight to mind to hand onto paper. She chose Fernando. But now to conceal the date as a Tutoring session so her father would not get angry at her for lying to him about some boy taking out his innocent little girl down a debucherous path.
A date to the beach, even in mid-summer it seems empty but in truth its large expanse of sand and water makes it look desolate when it is not. She packed up a small picnic lunch for them, met him at the lunch room and left the school mid day to head to the beach. (Later on at night they will make up the work they missed online.) Fernando got undressed to his bathing-suit and tried out various posses of flexing his muscles with and without various implements like the Spear, the Bow & Arrow, and the Discus.
But the air and water of Pouncefield has a way of changing one's moods. The wind shifts from the city of Pouncefield to the Water of the ocean, to from the ocean to the city. But whatever the reason, Minerva got a case of the giggles which she tries to hold back. But as anyone knows, holding back the giggles only makes it worse! Poor girl starts laughing hard, pounding the towel covered sand with her hand and feet. Fernando can only stand there for the next 1/2 hour wondering that is going on with her.
