This Savoy station wagon is quite the opposite of the Plymouth Fury station wagon that Al and Marge Coyote ordered...Al and Marge's wagon, equipped with a 395 Golden Commando V-8, could run circles around this one which is equipped with a 225 slant 6..
Savoy was the low price budget model of the Plymouth in 1960. To start with, this 6 cylinder car has very little optional equipment, 3 speed manual transmission, no A/C, AM only mono radio, and hubcaps instead of wheel covers and it is a 2 door...though it lists for not much more than $2,000...By contrast, Al and Marge's nine passenger Fury station wagon lists for over $4,000.
The car featured in this posting would be more along the order what neighbors, Frank and Wanda Coyote would purchase.
Nine passenger was not available in the Savoy models.
This is the Fury nine passenger that Al and Marge has;
There were lots of pick ups, as well as vans, that had six cylinder motors.
I had two such vehicles before; One was a 1974 Ford Econoline van with a 240 six cylinder and manual transmission (Originally the base six cylinder was a 300, but the 240 became the base motor toward the end of the 1974 production year. The other was a 1976 long bed, half ton, Chevy pick up, which also had a manual transmission.
