Marcus wanted to tag along on my Ohio trip and went with us to a visit to the fast food place I loved most as a kid.

A place I had not eaten at in near 30 years.

Rax Roast Beef!

He agrees it was awesome, so much so that he started waving at cars on the frontage road inviting them to come in and enjoy the best roast beef sandwich you can get.

My friend and I traveled an extra three hours to do this, but it was so worth it.

When I was young, I would get allergy shots at least once a week.

My Mom would always take me to Rax afterward.

They were once a large player, and then spent millions of dollars of adding super bars, long story short, not many are left.

The article mentions that the location I went to the most was the 300th location.

SO wait, if they spent lots of money, and have a bunch of places, wouldn't their still be a lot of them today, or did a lot of them go out of business because of reckless spending?

Wreckless spending.

The Superbar wasn't really a hit and the chain imploded upon itself.

Rapid expansion and reckless spending are always super risky.

One day, after I got an allergy shot, the location I always went to had closed.  It's now a Fazzolis.

The other location we went to closed as well.

Oddly enough, at least one of the six or so remaining locations still has the Superbar.

I was so excited when I called the Circleville location and they confirmed it was still in business.

The manager there seemed to "Get it" as to why I was so excited, and from some of the things people say about the various locations, I am far from the only person excited to pull up to one.
