This is a million times closer to what I want Maxi to look like!!
Since I took Wooloo as an excuse to draw Maxi, I also edited her into Wooloo's colors. (This was formerly the first image listed but I've since swapped their positions.) I've borrowed its side-strand-thingies for her hair, which she will be keeping, thanks Wooloo.
Astute viewers may notice Maxi is not as happy as a Wooloo as she is as a Capricean. I don't know why, she just doesn't like it.
For a long time I've been frustrated about my Dark Children. Like everything else in Elae Meltaea I've mostly portrayed them very sexually so far, and I want to start cleaning everything up and putting the world together. Or rather, getting things set up so that after my upcoming stint with homelessness, everything will be ready for me to get straight to work once I fix all that crap up.
However, I have no intention of unnecessarily censoring my characters just because the world is too immature to conceive of them. While Lacencia, Haylie, etc. are half-decent and will cover their a-hoo-has with voluminous dresses, Maxi's bust is unique among Dark Children in the sheer impossibility of full coverage, and she is the daughter of a bandit king, so she doesn't really try. (I might finetune the body portion of this outfit later to give her at least a nominal chance of staying in that top.)
I will not be ashamed of my characters or treat them like fetish fuel just because Twitter is or does - the same as I would not treat a real person that way because they were slut-shamed or raped. My characters will not be ashamed of themselves either (at the ends of their character developments, at least).
Maxi's previous outfit from three years ago wasn't doing it for me - it looks too blandly medieval and doesn't reflect her barbarian nature. At the same time as looking barbaric, she still needs to look plausibly "royal". It took me all this time to get myself to sit down and figure all that out, though at some point in the interim I realized the first step of the solution: barbarians are often depicted wearing pelts, and a bandit king or queen is usually really hedonistic and hoards finery, so a barbarian queen should wear fine pelt as her primary vestment. Since I also needed that pelt to be yellow-ish, I decided Maxi should wear tiger pelt. This works well as tiger pelt is one of the most recognizable "fine pelts" there is. (Maxi may or may not be wearing fake tiger pelt, as her kingdom does not locally host the creatures.)
I'm not sure what substance the black leggings are made from - I think I just needed her cooch covered by something and went "bleh it's chainmail". It could be some kind of black leather or something. I might detail it more the next time I draw Maxi clothed (if that ever happens), along with maybe adding some extra pieces here and there or making the garment less symmetrical.
I was not able to retain the clubs / three-leaf clover motif in most of the outfit, though her axe has been updated to better resemble one and I tacked a sigil medallion onto her shawl. Please note that, viewed from behind, all Dark Princesses' hairstyles resemble their respective sigil, so I don't strictly need to force it into the outfit itself, but it'd be nice if I could.
I'll try to get the other Dark Princesses uploaded soon too!!
Updated: I was really mad I'd forgotten the dark coloring on her limbs. I actually made this edit on the still-unpublished nude version and it turned out I didn't need to do all that just to turn the spots dark on the clothed version.
Also, I made the skirt piece a bit longer.
