Late birthday gift from O-ishi featuring Yori, doing something that ISN'T him failing yet.
I actually have not gotten a picture of Yori preparing a circle before to my surprise. That feels like an oversight that should have been covered a long time back haha! Regardless, circles aren't just made and fired out. No, they take quite a bit of preparation, skill and control to pull off making one! Not to mention an extensive working knowledge of the mana in the air at any given time, which can dictate the max size and strength of the circle itself.
Despite the power of Yori's circle magic, he tends not to use it unless he gets serious, that being when you piss him off and he actually goes all out to fight back. With a whip of his finger (or rod) a cascade of multicolored flames erupt before solidifying themselves into the shape of a circle and settling on a single color that dictates their effects in the zone.
Unfortunately, or perhaps luckily, most enemies won't take some tiny rabbit making rainbow flames from his finger (or rod) and just ignore him. Which, in most unfortunate enemy cases, is actually the best case scenario, as the true strength of circle magic doesn't come from it's power, but it's sheer versatility and range in fights. As long as the enemy ignores Yori, they'll be at a huge disadvantage!
Unfortunately, Yori's own hubris is exactly what prevents this from happening, as his desire to be seen and known undermine the very strength and usefulness of such a school. As well, it's completely useless for attacking and the circles themselves take quite a bit of time to make if one wants to cover a large area. These issues make the mage who uses it very weak on their own without something to supplement the weak points of the school. A great school hampered by it's user. With Yori being so weak in everything else, circle magic ends up being the one thing that makes him useful, yet he hardly uses it unless things truly get serious. Let's hope in time, Yori learns that it's alright to be support.
Overall, I'm really happy with this gift. It looks absolutely stunning and the colors are very nice. I actually really like this a visual for how the circle spells are actually made and cast as well, before forming into the final spell. Thank you very much for the gift O-ishi! I really appreciate it!
