Youtube seems to be knocking off music videos like killing off flies now days.

This presents a problem for those who insert music links into stories like I do.
Here is a small part of what could be in a story to give an example of this scenario;

Example - BB Code Tag Icon by wild1

At the party hosted by Roy Wolf, were many wolves and badgers. Vernon Fox and his wife, Deloris, attended the party as well as their neighbors; the skunks, the minks and a few opossums who lived on the other side of town.
They had lots of good snacks and mixed drinks...which a few guests had gotten a bit drunk off the mixed drinks.
There were some old records being played with the old classic songs on them. One song everyone seemed to like was;
1957 HITS ARCHIVE: Oh, Boy! - Buddy Holly & The Crickets
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij6s9YKwCbo
But when you click the link to the song, you get this.

"Wow. I haven't heard that song in years", Robbie Skunk said to Roy Wolf. "Where did you manage to find that record.
"It's been part of my record collection for years", Roy Wolf replied.
Like geeee...A Youtube failure notice had been part of Roy Wolf's record collection for years...Interesting.

Here is a solution of how I am dealing with this from now on.
When I post a music link in a story from now on, I am posting at least three links together for each song...That way, if Youtube deletes a video, or terminates the account of who posted the video, there are links to two other videos of the same song that might still be active...The example below is already beginning to appear in my stories;

I've been considering linking to Bitchute if that site has the same song I want to use that Youtube has.
https://www.bitchute.com/

Another thing I am considering as part of the solution is to focus on linking to videos of a particular song that have the most views;
A video to a song I want to link to has only 102 views.
Another video to the same song has only 39 views.
Another video to the same song has 900,736 views.
Another video to the same song has 1,742,065 views
Another video to the same song has 75,946 views.
I'd go with the ones that have the most views because account users who have a high viewership (especially if the videos are commercial monetized) are less likely to get popped off the site...That's something I've never thought about before.

Update: I've posted a music link to BitChute in part - 10 of 'Clarence Coyote and Project Courier'...between pages 26 and 27;

Youtube is terrible for that, even if you get a license from the company to use the music, they will still take it down and the person who posted it can't do anything about it.

That's why I might favor Bitchute if I can find the same song I want to use on that site.

On part 14 of the story I have going, damn near every music video I linked to had been dropped by Youtube, and I had to go through the story and link to other videos of the songs.

Stuff like this is why I support the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

There's too much copyright overreach.

This is why I'm going to try to find other sources to provide music links to.

By the way, I thank you for the fave.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this! I've seen animators on youtube get hit with this, even though they got permission and/or the music is open sourced.

I use open sourced music, and I haven't got hit yet. I think youtube just leaps to conclusions, and not investigating due to their fear of being sued. At least they care about copyright, but they're not caring enough and looking into things completely. :(

There was a video of a flea market I posted on Youtube a couple of years ago. Youtube removed it because for about 20 seconds in the video, you can hear a vendor's radio playing music in the background.

I asked one of their mods (which it took days to get a reply), "If I was shooting a video of an approaching train, and a car cruises by on a nearby highway with the windows down and the radio turned up loud, and you can hear only a few song lyrics from the car radio as the car sped by, would that be against your rules?".
The answer I got was, "Yes. That would constitute a violation of Youtube's copyright policy regarding recorded music".

I get what they're trying to do, but that's super ridiculous of YouTube. :/ Having music play in a radio station where everyone can listen, or even record if they want to. (I remember using my MP3, putting it up to the speakers and record a song)
I can understand if the person is using the music to make money, but for personal use? I personally think it's okay.

Yes, they do care about copyright but there's a such thing as too much sadly. :c

I made some Land Before Time fanfictions and all I did was put videos of an online reader reading them.  One of them got pulled  (The Search for Guido) due to a copyright claim by some company called UMA-RO (which I've never heard of before, and I happen to known that Universal Pictures owns Land Before Time and that Comcast owns them, and that even if I were to refer to the guys like Amblin or whatnot that own the original Land Before Time or LucasArts or any of Steven Spielberg's or Don Bluth's stuff, that none of them own a company with those initials. Also, could not really find much about that UMA-RO company at all online, other than someone else complaining that they got their video removed for a copyright complaint from that same entity and that they too had never heard of them before)  That one video got a single copyright strike so I quickly pulled all the others.   (I heard they can accrue for each case, which is why Youtube is taking down whole accounts.  Some guy could unknowingly get a violation for each other, perhaps from the same artist) and it gets ALL of their Youtube accounts removed after their third violation.

After I went through copyright school (which gets one violation removed as long as you don't get another within a certain amount of months), I decided that if I was going to upload fanfictions again, that I'd pick another site like Veoh or BitChute.

How I have always operated never left me open for being sited for violating copyright issues. All my characters and stories are of my own creation from scratch (from the ground up so to say).

As far as images of cars, there are many Google links to them also...Although if Google starts removing car images, I can easily resolve that situation by drawing the cars, posting my drawings of them here on IB, and linking them as a BB code link, like shown below;

I don't actually post the music associated with my stories directly...Instead, I provide a link to a source that has the song.
However, that does at times have my link directing those who are reading my stories to the notice below.
