Donovan gurgled and whined as he felt his body jitter with the intense pain from the gut punch still flowing through him. He recognized that this was a definite lost cause and that he needed to escape. There was no time...!
Yet, despite this, he found that he couldn't move. Rolland was upon him. He could see the guy, just barely, through his hazy, swirling eyes! It wasn't until he saw Rolland take his boxing gloves off that he knew he was in for it. The fierce pain of a bare knuckled punch across his face saw Donovan swirling and tumbling to the floor. He flopped like a fish against the mat for a second before twitching to a stop.
Rolland than chuckled and bent down, grappling Donovan around his neck as the chorus of laughter all around them began to ring throughout his clouded head.
Donovan began drooling and his eyes started to flutter. What was happening? Was he in the land of gumdrops and fairies? The more it hurt the calmer and more relaxed he felt. He felt himself getting really tired. Like a baby desiring his crib.
"Gugh. Gugh... Fubooo..blugh..." Donovan made weird mutters and gurgles as the hold around his neck was tightened. Rolland could still sense that Donovan was fighting to stay awake.
"Shhh~!" Rolland began to coo and whisper into the raccoon's ear. "There, there baby. Time for your nappy poo~! Just relaaaaax~!"
It was pretty soothing alright. Donovan's eyes had rolled up in their sockets to the point of being completely white. As his eyelids fluttered, the onlookers that were still giggling to themselves pondered one of life's biggest questions.
It was a mystery that real, actual scientists weren't able to crack the code on to this very day.
"Do tighty whities sap your strength or do losers and babies gravitate towards them?" The question was posed yet again. One of them turned to the other and answered with what he believed to be the truth.
"I'd say BOTH!"
Was it true? Was it both? The world, nay, the universe, may never know for sure. Right now, though, it was proving to remain consistent with one or both of those ideas, much to Donovan's dismay.
