Chapter 8
After the ride, they stopped in China and sat the rooftop to see the fireworks.
"It's all so magical!" Amy smiled as her eyes sparkled.
"Yeah." Sonic agreed.
"Too bad Chip isn't here!" Amy smirked.
"Yeah. He likes fireworks." said Sonic and then he stopped talking and realised what he said and that he was revealed. "Oops!"
"Aha! I knew you're that boy from the market!" said Amy as she was suspisous. "Tell me the truth."
Sonic was nervous and hesitated about trying to tell Amy the truth. But he lied to her.
"Well, the truth is that I sometimes dress as a commoner to escape the pressures of palace life." Sonic replied nervously. "But I'm really a prince."
"Why didn't you tell me before?" she asked.
"Well, you know, royalty going out into the city in disguise, it sounds a little strange, don’t you think?" Sonic replied as he shrugged.
"Not that strange." said Amy as she leaned her head to Sonic.
Later after the trip, they returned to Rosagbah and Amy got back to her balcony. And the hedgehogs smiled at each other.
"Good night, my handsome prince." Amy smiled.
"Sleep well, princess!" Sonic smiled.
As they slowly leaned forward to kiss but the carpet bumped Sonic and they kissed each other on their lips sooner than expected. Amy walked away to her room, athen turned and looked at him with a smile. Finally she enters her room through the curtain.
"Yes!" said Sonic to himself as he fell back onto the carpet, who descended to the ground. "Wow! For the first time in my life, things are starting to go right."
Suddenly the guards showed up. They grabbed Sonic and they gagged and tied him up while the other tied Chip in the net and they tied the carpet up to a tree.
"I’m afraid you’ve worn out your welcome, Prince Nickie!" Wakim smiled wickedly and then he left as he ordered the guards to get rid of Sonic.
The guards left Rosagbah and threw Sonic off the cliff into the ocean with his feet were tied to a rock and landed on the sea bottom, then the turban landed and the lamp tumbled out. Sonic struggled and struggled to rub the lamp. But, he lost consciousness and fell to the floor. The lamp, unsettled by his movement, rolled down and rubbed against his hands and Tails emerged from the lamp. When Tails saw what happened to Sonic, he knew Sonic was about to drown and he used his magic to back the chain and pulled Sonic up to the cliff. He was free and coughed out the water from his mouth.
"Sonic, are you alright?" Tails asked him worriedly
"Yes. Tails, thanks for saving me from drowning." Sonic replied and hugged Tails.
"No problem, Sonic." Tails smiled as they headed to Rosagbah.
Meanwhile in Amy's bedroom, she sighed happily as she thought about the carpet ride while Daisy smiled at how happy Amy was.
"Amy!" said Robert as he showed up in her room.
"Oh, dad. I had the most wonderful time. I'm so happy." Amy smiled.
"You should be, Amy. I have chosen a husband for you." said Robert as he was still monotone from the hypnosis.
"What?" Amy asked confusedly.
"You will wed Wakim." Robert replied as Wakim showed up.
Amy gasped in horror.
"I see that you’re speechless. A fine quality in a wife." smirked Wakim.
"I'll never marry you, Wakim!" Amy glared at Wakim as she backed away from Wakim and then walked towards her father. "Father, I choose Prince Nickie!"
"I'm afraid the prince left." Wakim lied.
"I think you better check your crystal ball again, Wakim." said Sonic as he showed up.
Amy was very happy to see Sonic but Wakim was shocked to see how did he escape and still alive.
"Tell them the truth, Snake Face! You tried to kill me!" Sonic glared.
"That's absolutely ridiculous nonsence, your majesty!" said Wakim as he hypnotized him again with his staff. "He's obviously delusional"
"Obviously....delusional..." Robert repeated being hypnotized.
"Dad, what's wrong with you?" Amy asked her father worriedly.
Sonic saw the red gem of the staff which made the sultan hypnotized.
"I think I know something's wrong?" Sonic said as he snatched the staff from Wakim's hand and smashed the gem on the floor into pieces which broke the hypnosis for good.
"What happened?" Robert asked as he was back to normal.
"Your majesty, Wakim was controlling you with this staff!" Sonic replied as he showed him the broken staff.
"What? Wakim, you treacherous snakes!" Robert yelled angrily and being betrayed by his own vizier.
"Your majesty. I can explain everything!" said Wakim as he hacked away from them.
"Guards, arrest Wakim at once!" Robert demanded the guards as they grabbed Wakim while the purple cobra saw the lamp in Sonic's turban.
"This isn't over yet!" said Wakim as he threw a small bottle on the floor to create a huge smoke screen. Everyone coughed and couldn't see a thing. When the smoke was gone, Wakim disappeared. The guards left the bedroom to search for him.
After the guards left the to find Wakim, Robert felt sad and couldn't believe that his grand vizier betrayed him. Then he saw Amy and Sonic holding in each other's arms. He couldn't believe his eyes and smiled.
"Can it be true? My daughter has finally found a suitor?" Robert asked amazedly.
Amy nodded happily.
"How wonderful!" Robert happily. "My dear boy. You two will be wed tomorrow.And you’ll be happy and prosperous, and then my boy, you will be sultan!"
"Sultan?" Sonic asked.
"That's right." Robert replied.
Sonic felt concerned about this with a frown.
Meanwhile in Wakim's lab, he smiled and laughed wickedly for realising that Prince Nickie was Sonic all along and he still had the lamp.
