Donovan sighed and prepared himself. There was a good number of people in the stands ready to watch the free fights that were about to befall the ring. Normally, he'd be okay with that but that conversation he overheard rattled about in his brain. It didn't seem like this was a session he wanted to prolong.
"Alright... who am I up against...?" Donovan looked at the fight card and read the name. "Rolland?" He looked over and saw a blue husky waving at him with a smile on his face.
"Yo." Rolland said back. "You must be Donovan. We're the first fight. Lucky us!" He said with a smile while sticking out his hand.
Donovan blinked and stared at him before grabbing his hand and shaking. "S-Sure."
"May the better man win." He smirked, playfully.
Donovan smirked back. "Don't worry. I will."
He couldn't help himself there. For some reason he always got intense before a fight. Something about this atmosphere drove him to be more aggressive and mean. As the two of them climbed into the ring, the bell rang and instantly the two went at each other with their boxing gloves.
The thin and versatile nature of the gloves made it way easier to move around with them on. Donovan loved them. He jabbed and pounded at Rolland, watching as he barely kept up with the raccoon. This guy was certainly new. Either that or he was in another block and he had no idea how Donovan fought. Either way, he was making some clear headway.
BAM!
He made a punch against Rolland's face that sent his eyes rolling.
"That all you got?! HAHA!" Donovan laughed, stomach welling up with pride and accomplishment before the fight was even over. Rolland hadn't landed a single hit on him yet.
Though, that really just meant he had no idea how hard Rolland could hit.
