Donovan hummed a happy little song in his head as he walked into the sterile looking locker-room. He could smell the fresh paint drying along the wall. It really did seem like there had been a lot of progress made in making this place seem as new as it could be. Even the guy at the desk was new. He had to wonder how the new ring looked.
Wrestle-Boxing was a ton of fun. The gloves you were given weren't so thick that it was impossible to grip things and the rules were flexible enough that you could take them off if you wanted, so that was neat. He loved the parts where he got to flip people around after punching them. It was such a good way to vent and let off steam. Being barred from hitting people when you were a little kid after people pissed you off was the worst.
"Glad I live on my own now." Donovan muttered, looking to the side as all the memories of his unflattering school days came back to him. "That part of my life was... ugh. Good riddance. I'll punch and kick whenever I want now." He chuckled to himself as he began stripping his clothes off and started to dawn his shorts. Due to how short of a distance he was away from the other kids in the locker-room, he couldn't help picking up on conversations. There wasn't a ton of people in here. Maybe, like, four of five people considering it was the first day back, but it was more than enough for a show. Plus, there'd no doubt be more people watching in the stands since it was basically free access to the public. It functioned more like a rec-center on days where there wasn't a competition.
He wondered if he'd catch any interesting news about the latest going on in something like WWE or whatever but what hit his ears instead was much worse.
"My little brother turns 6 soon. He skipped briefs and went straight to boxers!" One kid's voice echoed in the locker-room. Donovan's ear twitched at that. What a proud kid he sounded like. Also, what a mature 6 year old of a brother.
"Ha. That's neat. Briefs are basically super thin diapers anyway man." One boy responded. Donovan felt his heart beat a bit faster hearing that. Did... did he just hear that right? He was listening to this as his Teddy Bear tighty whities were on display in the aisle right next to them. W-Well... maybe they had a very mean view of briefs but that didn't mean-
"Yeah. I'd demolish any baby walking in here wearing those "diapers" and calling them underwear!"
"...Eh?" Donovan's heart skipped a beat.
He slowly turned to look back at where the voices were coming from with a hint of fear on his face. This was... quite the interesting c-conversation... w-w-was he in the right place? These guys seemed new... w-was this "Block A" like he asked? M-Maybe he should go to the reception desk and ask if everything was put into place correctly.
That's when the small bell rang, signaling that all the active participants were to head out into the ring area. Donovan was frozen in fear but the bell snapped him out of it and he got the shorts on before anyone caught a glimpse of the Teddy Butt undies as they walked past. He even had his name on them, like some kind of mommy's boy.
He blushed and clenched his fists as he headed out."I-It's okay. Underwear isn't meant to be seen anyway. It's fine... It's... fine...?"
