Character Sheet for John Eq (similar to John Samer, see below)
Age
33 as of 2018 (based on a real person so ages every year)
Personality
Very boring and nerdy John's technobabble often drives others away and he can be a bit of a show off about the fact he knows more facts than other people.
However as a landlord his knowledge often comes in handy in solving practical problems as he's able to use his vast knowledge to adapt and be resourceful, especially when it comes to repairing things, which John loves to do because it's the only real time he gets respect.
Often just part of the furniture working on well.. his actual job, he can be a bit of a buzz kill, especially as he won't let anyone touch his expensive PC.
He doesn't seem to have a fun switch and is always so very serious and somewhat sardonic and bored by people who actually live their life, rolling his eyes at the mere mention of alcohol.
However on the plus side he's a very helpful person if totally out of the loop where social aspects are concerned.
He is however very calm, patient and tolerant and can often think around a problem and give good advice.
Background/History
John had a fairly boring life as an engineer but he was content with it until one an accident caused his family's raw stupidity resulted in the loss of John's right hand.
When he was working to fix an engine in a truck as a favor a family member broke the safety catch pin on the car jack and didn't tell anyone.
When John went to extend the jack to its limited the catch failed and several tons of truck came crashing down John's wrist in the form of the exposed brake plate severing it just below the wrist joint.
After receiving medical treatment he found the lack of appendage very limiting and so decided to use his engineering knowledge to found a prosthetics company and now it's rather successful.
Despite resigning as the company director he stayed on as the lead designer and now uses his all bells and whistles computer to 3D engineer prosthetic parts.
One such project is John's own right hand which although doesn't have individual finger motion is still a fairly practical body part he can't do without.
John Samer encountered Sammu on a business trip to Edinburgh and was the first person to understand Sam completely in all Sam's travels around the world so they formed some sort of friendship.
Sammu was later arrested for GBH and formed a friendship with fellow inmate Soubi. After leaving the prison Soubi had nowhere to go so Sammu took him in without asking John.
However the three became friends and shared one of John's apartments (apartment 3B), somehow acquiring several other individuals to do so which John never agreed to along the way.
Over the following years Sammu built up an organized criminal gang using people from the apartment block and adding anyone he liked to the ranks by manipulating them into staying there. It became a running joke that Sam would bring home random strangers like a child who found a puppy.
John prefers not to take part in Sam's criminal activity as he's straight as an arrow although he honors the friendship by not reporting him to the authorities if he can and turns a blind eye to it professing innocence.
John has a large community of followers, mostly because he develops games for free on the side which he shares in his favorite web community.
One fan called Maxwell Galloway like several of his fans fell in love with him but unlike the others John reciprocated those feelings but only in private.
Sammu mocked John saying that it must be trolling and arranged to play a prank on John by getting Sam's girlfriend Chu to seduce him on Valentines day so he wont be lonely.
However, after rejecting Chu's incessant advances, Chu felt a little left out and suspecting that John might be up to something on his own arranged with Sam to catch him in the act.
To their shock and amazement they found John and Max very much making out with John very much the dominant one.
Vowing never to speak of it again Sam suddenly remembered that humans who kiss Selkies like Chu acquire the ability to swallow people whole (that's canon mythology i'm serious) and they both rushed back to find Max- well... somewhat into John so to speak.
After the situation calmed down a bit and Max went to have a regular kind of shower. Sam and Chu went about the pact to get John into the more freaky kinds of things they were into.
Finally John is becoming less square though could you have possibly chosen worse teachers.
Relatives/Family
John has actually quite a large family with many members spread far and wide though he lives quite far away from them and they rarely visit. However, he still keeps in regular contact with the rest of his family every weekend and they are quite happy to see that he has quite a number of friends.
World/Setting
To all intense purposes the main canon John belongs to is almost a carbon copy of the real world. Should he appear in another person's canon he would probably be fascinated by the differences and waste the entire time thinking about them and how they would work in a practical sense.
To stop John going all out nerd on you it's probably better to bring along a friend to do the talking. I think even John himself would appreciate not having to think that hard about it.
Body
Somewhat orange brown skin tone with black hair and dark blue eyes.
Elements of Asian races especially around the nose but more western features around the eyes.
Fairly average in build with a small but prominent belly.
Clothing
John usually wears the same deal day after day.
A red sweatshirt with a white stripe down each arm.
Blue sweatpants with a white stripe down each leg.
And black smart casual footwear that can either function as trainers or business shoes.
Accessories
He wears a smart phone watch which can also use for contactless payments on his left wrist.
On his right stump he has his (currently) electric pink PVC prosthetic hand which looks very big and bulky like something out of an anime, though he has other kinds of hands.
He also has a very slender black metal hand and a skin tone mannequin hand which he wears a glove made from a few layers of women's tights over to hide the joints. At first glance you would be fooled into thinking it is indeed a real hand.
