Most of the time, the danger don't come from what you expected : i'm talking about a third parties here (like those times when you open a chest and only see a note inside "i have already take that" RAAAAAAA) XD

Ah yes, many things can go wrong, it's useful to have a plan B, C , etc. :) This includes cases where the employer is left without a completed deal for any reason, like the in your example.
He is careful about who he accepts deals with, he treats these encounters like a mission...always have a getaway plan :D Also, the employer varies, he occasionally gets confidential messages from the hesiarr home worlds that entrust him with various operations, from scouting and special item delivery, to the more rare missions with an arranged team. Aside from these he also likes to make extra income from arrangements with the current locals if there is something lucrative enough that fit his potential.
