Jax patiently watched the clock as he waited for his lunch break. He truly enjoyed his job but there were days when he really just wanted to sit down alone and eat something to do some thinking. He answered phones and took care of problems, the issues varying from questions, making appointments and one person who was particularly unhappy with a fix Sasha had made to his phone, but he never clarified what was wrong. He didn't even bother getting the lioness involved due to the sheer stupidity of the issue and just handled it the best he could. Luckily the person had yet to call back or even show up so he figured it was a false claim or the person just didn’t wanna handle it, either way it was a relief for him because now he didn’t need to worry about it. A few minutes until his break time and someone comes in with a laptop and looks awkwardly at him. “Uh, hi… yeah. I have an appointment with Sasha, my laptop shorted out and I need her help.” She told him, it was a very gentle panda girl, no older than mid twenties as she stood there, Jax watching for a moment, a bit astounded by how cute she looked before shaking his head and typing away. “Oh, right, you must be miss Pierce, I’ll get you ringed in and you can go and wait for Sasha to come help.” He smiled as the panda thanked him before silently walking over and sitting on the couch in the room, a bit embarrassed by the fact she was in for something so dumb, but she didn’t know how to handle it.
Jax places his elbow in the counter and rests his head on his paw, glancing over at the panda every few minutes to see her. He found her cute but was having a hard time deciding if he wanted to go and talk to her or not. He knew she was nice and he wasn’t having to many high hopes but there was something lingering in his mind that made him unsure if he wanted to approach her. Before he could muster up the courage, Sasha walked out with her tablet and smiled as she took the Panda off to go and get her issue taken care of. He sighed a bit seeing them disappear into Sasha’s office as he missed his initial chance, he decided to wait now and see what would happen. “Man, she’s really cute, and she looks really friendly. I should say something. But if I do and we go on a date, what will she say about my interest? Would she think I’m weird or would she be okay with it. I don’t wanna embarrass myself.” He said to himself in a mumbled tone as he sighed and waited. After almost half an hour of working, the panda walked out thanking Sasha and happily left the store, Sasha walking over to Jax seeing him looking towards the door hopelessly.
“Why didn't you take the chance Jax? You obviously had the hots for her. And Simon could use a mother like that. Sweet, loving, hot.” Sasha said, she was very brunt and upfront about thing and when someone was hot or good looking, she made sure she knew. She loved meeting people and loved making them feel good, which fit her personality because on the weekends when her tech shop was closed, she had another weekend job that dealt with many people, she was a hair stylist at a salon and she loved her job because she was able to make people feel good about themselves, and she was always on the lookout for potential people for Jax. She knew of Jax’s situation and she wanted him to be happy especially since Simon needed a mother or another parent. “I know you ain’t shy honey, so don’t try using that as an excuse either, I know you well enough to know you wanted to talk to her so what’s talking you down and out of it?” She asked the wolf and walked with him to the back to lock up for break, putting up a sign to show they would be gone for the hour.
“It’s nothing. I thought she was cute but I don’t think she’s my type. And besides, I doubt she’d be the type who’s okay with my weird… fetish.” He said awkwardly as only Sasha and Simon know about what Jax was into, both finding it really cute and both didn’t mind if he did, his best friend and son both played along with it even. Sasha smiled at Jax and chuckle. “What, you worried she’s gonna hate you just because you like wearing diapers and being a babyfur. Oh please sugar, in this society, you act like we don’t see weird stuff on the daily, there’s people into spanking, diapers, and the list goes on. I’m sure she has her own interests in mind. You’ll never know until you try it, so why don’t you ever try it?” She asked as she got into her car and unlocked the passenger side for Jax, who was blushing when she straight out said that he liked being diapered and babied at times, Jax was a babyfur, and his son and friend knew that, they helped and played along with it because they accepted it as part of his personality, and Simon just liked that his dad was silly that way. Jax leaned back in the passenger seat and sighed as he thought about what she was saying, she wasn’t wrong, this society had many interesting people and what they were interested in, but he was still shy and awkward about it because he felt he didn’t fit in.
Sasha smiled at him as she started her car and pulled out of her spot to take them to lunch. “Honey, you need to find someone soon, because you’re a wonderful man and any man or woman would die happy knowing they were dating you. Just be confident. And if you can’t do that, maybe I can give you a boost in confidence.” She smirked playfully as Jax blushed and covered his face, knowing Sasha meant Spanking him. Her think was spanking as her top interest, but she had a list of her own that people had to learn about it they wanted to know, and it worked well with how she was very caring to Jax because she wouldn’t hesitate to put Jax over her lap and spank him Until he stopped being nervous and gained the confidence to make his move. Jax watched out the window thinking of what he could do. There was possibly someone out there for him and he knew it, he just needed to think about how to find them, for all he knew, they could be in this small little town, in a hotel, or in his own neighborhood. He just had to work up the courage to go and meet that person, whoever it was. Jax nodded and sighed “You’re right Sasha, I might need to make my move, there’s no telling who my significant other is but I won’t know unless I try it.” He said and smiled softly, showing at least a small amount of confidence, which was better than nothing.
“That’s the spirit. Also I’m gonna change the topic on your for a moment, you still want me to cut Simon’s hair on Saturday? I’ll gladly reserve my chair for that cutie, and give him one handsome looking haircut.” Sasha smiled, changing topics to future plans knowing that Jax was really embarrassed right now and a change of conversation would work well. Jax smiled as he grabbed his phone and checked his calendar to make sure that date worked, nodding as he looked at the lion woman. “That would be amazing if you could. He loves going to your salon for some reason, mostly you’d see feminine types go in there, but he really loves what you do.” Jax smiled, he didn’t have any plans that day so of course he’d spend the day with his son and get the boy a haircut, it was much needed. “And besides, he needs that haircut soon because eventually you might not be able to tell the difference between his pet tarantula and his hair.” He made an attempt at a joke, which Sasha just rolled her eyes and chuckled softly as she pulled up to a small diner for lunch, smiling as she parked the car and shut it off before stepping out with the wolf. “Lunch is on me today hon, don’t worry about paying.” She smiled. Sasha always used the words sugar, honey and hon and people she cared about like family, so Jax hearing that knew he had someone he could rely on. Jax nodded happily and walked into the diner with his boss and close friend.

Keith smiled as he brought the final tray of food up to the ballroom and nodded as he carefully set it down on the table, while the caterers and served gathered around to get it served. This was the final plate Keith needed to prepare before he was done for lunch, which he was grateful for because he both needed to eat and needed to go and talk to Draco. After dismissing himself from the ballroom, he walked back to the kitchen and took off his hat, putting it on the counter and looking at Andrew. “I’m gonna take Draco with me on break okay? I know it’s a bit inconvenient but it’s easier if I talk to him now while he’s still okay and awake.” He said knowing that Draco got tired easily after work so talking to him after might show difficult. Andrew nodded and looked at a list of names he had “yeah that’s fine, his well being is more important anyways, I’ll get someone to cover his section while you guys talk. And please, tell me what it is if you find out, the poor guy has been through enough already and I wanna help.” The man told him, he was an older man and always tried to care about those working under him, because of his past.
Andrew came from a different country altogether, only coming the his current town after he had lost his wife and daughter to a sickness. He never truly rebuilt himself after the loss of his family but he still did what he could to take care of others so he didn’t have to lose anyone else, and in his eyes, Keith and Draco were like little brothers to him, so whenever one of them got sad, he had a pain in his heart. Keith knew this story well and knew that Andrew just wanted what was best for Draco, so he put on his smile and nodded. “Of course Andrew, you’d be the first to know.” He said and smiled before walking out of the kitchen and heading out the back entrance, where Draco was waiting. Draco had already been texted by Keith to meet him outside and he did so, a cigarette lit in his claws as he used it, a bad habit he knew he had but he never really tried to stop it. He looked over and saw Keith with a very sad yet stern look on his face and without a word put out the cigarette and disposed of it. “You know I hate that look.” Draco said, a bit of guilt on his chest whenever he saw it.
“Well I hate giving it but you know how I feel about that, smoking isn’t good for you. Especially given you don’t have the health to do it in the first place.” Neither gently lectured as he unlocked his car. Draco suffered from loss of breath and to many quick movements would make him hyperventilate if he wasn’t careful, so whenever Keith saw him smoking it made the wolf upset because Draco knew how risky it was and he still did it anyways. Draco sighed and got in the car, pulling on his hoodie and raising the hood to hide his face, a bit of shame dwelling over him hearing keith so stern. Draco idolized Keith, the wolf was a strong man, was raising his son alone, and always knew how to comfort his friends, he was also jealous of the wolf because he never was good at anything, even the job he had was only because Keith convinced Andrew to hire him. Draco hated how useless he was and always wanted to just break down and cry, but he was to worried that Keith was be ashamed of him if he did, Keith was the only person he’d ever open up to.
Keith saw him hide his face and gently rubbed his back before he started driving. He loved Draco like a little brother and would so anything for him, he just never knew what was really going on in Draco’s head. The car ride was mostly silent aside from Keith on occasion singing a few lines of a song on the radio, which always got a soft chuckle from Draco. They soon arrived at a diner and Keith parked his car. He got out and walked Draco inside, pulling the dragons hood back just because he wanted to remind Draco he still had to show himself. Upon entering they saw the diner was mostly empty and they were seated almost immediately, there was only one other pair of people in the diner near them as they sat in the booth and got their menus. after getting their drinks, Keith sighed and placed his menu down. “I’m just gonna cut to the chase, did something happen?” He asked, looking Draco right in the eyes. Draco looked at him for a second before hiding behind the menu and read it, or pretended to at the very least. “No, nothing happened.” He said, but his tone was more depressed than his usual tone.
Keith winced hearing the depressed tone of voice as he sighed, and just watched the dragon. After a few moments of silence, Draco soon slid an opened envelope over to Keith that had urgent written on the front. It was from the apartments he lived in. Keith immediately knew something was wrong and silently took the letter and unfolded it, scanning it for a minute before realizing what it was, an eviction. He gasped gently and looked at Draco, who had once again pulled his hood over his head and had his head on the table, arms wrapped around his head to keep himself secluded, without words, Keith knew Draco was devastated. “Draco… what happened?” He asked, only to get the response of a shaking head, it was clear Draco didn’t want to talk about it and Keith just stopped it there. “Draco, if something is wrong, you gotta tell me. I want to help you.” Keith told the dragon as he scooted himself into the same side and gently wrapped his arm around Draco. After a moment of silence, Draco raised his head to show his face was covered in tears and he was silently sobbing, he was devastated and couldn’t contain it anymore.
Keith didn’t say a word and just held Draco close to him and let him cry into his chest, rocking him gently as he did. Keith wasn’t going to force Draco to talk but he was sure enough gonna keep him close, Draco needed someone dearly and he was the one to do it. “I don’t know what to do anymore Keith… I have nowhere to go, you and Andrew are the only people who care about me… it’s all becoming to much.” He said softly and quietly through his sobs as he gripped onto Keith’s shoulders and cried. Draco struggled heavily with depression, and Keith knew that, he always did his best to bring a smile to Draco’s face just to help even a little, and right now he wanted to make sure Draco didn’t let his depression get the best of him. “You do have somewhere to go. Until you get yourself back on your feet, you’ll come live with me and Lucas.” He told Draco, it was more of an instruction and less of a offer. Hearing the stern and loving tone Keith was giving off, he didn’t wanna argue, he just finished crying after a few minutes and just lied in Keith’s embrace like a child, he felt safe, and protected. “Thanks.” He muttered softly while the server came to get their order, which was good timing now that Draco had calmed down.
“Thank you Keith… I don’t wanna be a burden but I’ll do whatever I can to help you around the house. What you’re doing for me means to much.” Draco said, showing how much he appreciated it, despite how he was feeling. Keith nodded softly and smiled, he’d do anything for Draco. Their meal went by pretty normal and Keith did everything in his power to make Draco forget what was wrong for now, and it worked really well. Despite how depressed Draco was, he had a smile, and was even laughing a little. Even with his depression hurting him constantly, the fact that Keith always made him smile was enough proof that there was a little hope in his life. Keith smiled at the Dragon teen and smiled, there was only a few years between them, since Draco sat comfortable at the age of 19, but there was always a parental and big brother type of vibe Keith gave off to Draco, and Draco saw Keith as family even if it wasn’t by blood. It was something Draco really needed.
The two ended their meals and smiled as Keith Paid for the check, Draco fixing himself up since he had to go back to work after crying. Draco got up and started heading for the car and Keith slid from the booth after leaving a tip, but was taken by surprise when a grey and white husky accidentally bumped into him and they both fell, the lion that was with the wolf gasping. “Oh dear are you two okay?” She asked and helped Keith up, dusting him off as she helped the wolf, which was Jax, up.
“Yes, I’m fine. Apologies to you two, I should’ve been paying attention.” He smiled before checking his watched “Sorry, I really need to go!” He said and quickly apologized again before running out the door, he needed to get back to work soon. Jax was a bit dazed from falling over but that didn’t stop him from watch the wolf, his tail wagging a bit excitedly as he saw the wolf run off. He looked at Sasha, his eyes a bit wide and his heart pounding. “He’s the one.” He said, Sasha watching for a moment before smiling softly, chuckling.
“Well sugar, I’ll be sure to help you find that fine looking man, but we gotta work. We will search for him Saturday.” Sasha told Jax and chuckled at how excited his tail was wagging as they walked from the diner. This was the start of how the special couple came to be.
