Bucky The Bad Ol’ Buck [COM]
The eight pic out of nine in which Bucky is drawn in a popular cartoon style, Bucky in Gravity Falls style, done by the talented VampireMeerkat. 😊

Here’s a quick blurb on how Bucky would exist within this show:

One afternoon, Dipper and Mabel are busy helping Soos haul defective Mystery Shack merchandise to the dump, only to discover an old television that seems to be in pretty good condition. Deciding that since Grunkle Stan always hogs the tv to himself, maybe they could sneak this one home and set it up in their room, that way they can watch tv whenever they want, including those super late “inappropriate movies” they’re not supposed to. While hauling the tv home in Soos’s car, nobody notices it flicker on to the snowy tv screen and then a black shadowy figure with yellow glowing eyes slams against the screen with a audible gasp.

Back at the Mystery Shack, once Soos has set up the tv in the Pines twins room, they switch it on and it starts playing an old cartoon that neither of them recognize with a big bottomed cartoon deer getting into hilarious hijinks. Realizing that they stayed up all night, they try to turn off the set, only for it to start rattling and letting out massive sparks of electricity. Barely having time to panic, the screen cracks down the middle and burst open, with both Pine twins jumping out of the way just in time. When the smoke clears, there standing before them is a life sized, colored version of the cartoon character they were watching before.

The toon deer confused looks around and then spots the two children, then a friendly voice asks them where he is and he then pulls out map from behind himself seemingly out of nowhere and states he really shouldn’t have taken that left turn at Walla Walla. Throwing the map away, he shakes both of the twins hands vigorously and introduces himself as Bucky the Big Bottomed Buck, Toon Deer Extraordinaire, tipping his antlers as if they were a hat before reattaching them. Dipper nervously introduces himself while Mabel is more receptive to the toon, finding his antics funny. Dipper quickly pulls Mabel aside and reminds her that he just burst out of the tv and he shouldn’t be here, but Mabel counters that he doesn’t seem bad, and that maybe they should give him a chance.

They suddenly both hear a crash and realize Bucky is missing. Rushing downstairs, they see the deer in their kitchen with a chef’s hat and apron, mixing a whole bunch of ingredients in a typical sloppy toon fashion. Dipper angrily demands to know what he’s doing and Bucky explains that since they’re letting him crash at their place, he decided to surprise them with breakfast. Mabel states that this is proof that Bucky’s a nice guy. While Dipper at first thinks that maybe he misjudged the toon, he suddenly realizes that this is very similar to what happened in one of the Bucky cartoons earlier, where Bucky literally covered the kitchen in flapjacks and makes a big mess of everything. Just as Dipper predicted the toon deer starts flipping pancakes like crazy not paying attention to where they land. Dipper desperately tries catching the tasty projectiles with very minimal success and then just as he peels one of them off his face, it shows Grunkle Stan entering the room. While the old man is confused at first, he starts laughing and then states he can’t believe that the kids tried making him breakfast, though next time not to go so crazy with the flipping. Wondering why Stan thinks they did this, he realizes Bucky is gone again. The old man then states that while it was a nice thought, but that they still need to clean up after themselves, but Dipper quickly states that they’ll do it later as they rush out the door. Stan shrugging as he states that he tried, before a flapjack falls on his head.

Following his footsteps, the twins find Bucky playing and cheating at a card game involving a raccoon, a squirrel, and Gompers the Goat who is in the process of eating his cards. Dipper angrily shouts the deer’s name, drawing his attention as asks them if they enjoyed the flapjacks. Dipper demands he comes back with them and stop goofing off, but as soon as he grabs the deer’s wrist, Bucky’s eyes flash yellow and he begins speaking gibberish in an unintelligible and creepy echoey voice. This causes Dipper to let go in sheer terror and Bucky’s eyes return to normal as he continues acting as if nothing just happened.

Definitely believing there is more to Bucky than meets the eye, Dipper decides to look him up on the internet while Mabel stays with him to keep him out of trouble. Dipper discovers that there was only one Bucky cartoon made during the Golden Age of Animation and it was created by a young aspiring animator named Buck Darling, who tragically passed away before it was ever released. Dipper also discovers that Buck was survived by his brother Chuck, who actually resides in Gravity Falls. Hoping to get more answers, Dipper heads to Chuck’s.

Meanwhile, Mabel is starting to notice that the episodes where Bucky’s eyes glow and he speaks gibberish are starting to become more frequent. Something else that Mabel doesn’t notice that starts happening is that Bucky’s skin is starting to melt ever so slightly.

Arriving at Chuck’s supposed address, he is greeted by a young man who looks exactly like Chuck, but then corrects the boy by introducing himself as Huck, Chuck’s grandson. Dipper asks what he knows about the lost Bucky cartoon, and that Chuck kept it after Buck passed away and he blamed it for Buck’s early demise because Buck spent so much time on it that he neglected his health to such a drastic extent. After the funeral, Chuck hid away the cartoon film reel somewhere nobody would find it.

Huck admits he liked the character his great uncle came up with and would’ve liked people to see it for themselves but without that reel, there’s no hope of ever doing so.

Suddenly Dipper how Bucky came out of the tv and he rushes back to their room, shouting for Huck to meet him at the old drive thru cinema.

Meanwhile, Bucky’s condition has deteriorated to the point where he now resembles a colored blob with glowing yellow eyes that attacks anything in his path, with Mabel running for her life to avoid be smothered by the goop monster. Using the walkie-talkie, she calls Dipper for help and to update him on her situation.

Dipper, heading up to their room, tells Mabel to lead him to the cinema, and that he’s met her there. Dipper kicks open the door and goes over to the old tv, and after break out more of the screen, looks inside and finds what he was looking for the missing film reel. He hurries to the drive-thru where he finds Huck waiting for him, grabbing the man by the arm, Dipper leads him to the projector’s booth and asks him to set up the reel. When a stunned Huck asks him where he found it, Dipper shouts for him to hurry up, as it shows Mabel running to the cinema with the Bucky monster right behind here. Dipper tries to help fight off the melted toon but it grabs him and then her, and prepares to devour them both when suddenly the reel starts and the film begins to play. Bucky immediately stops and lets out a gurgled huh as he looks at the screen and sees himself. He drops the two children and is transfixed on the screen. Meanwhile, the townspeople are drawn by the commotion and the twins use this as an opportunity to present the situation as a free movie night showing a classic cartoon. Curious and not wanting to pass up a free movie, the townspeople sit and begin to enjoy the show. The Bucky goop watches as the townspeople enjoy the show and laugh at Bucky’s antics, moving it to sludgy tears and it completely melts away, revealing the ghost of Buck Darling, who too is shedding tears of joy. Dipper and Mabel meet Huck in the projector’s booth and then Buck’s ghost appears before them. The grateful ghost thanks them for helping him to complete his unfinished business and now he can finally rest in piece.

Buck then twirls around, turning back into his Bucky the Toon Deer form, and then mimicking the end of his own cartoon states, “That’s it for now, see you folks next time.”, then laughs as he ascends to the golden light.

A year later,

Mabel is in front of the tv when Dipper comes in with a bowl of popcorn and asks if he missed anything and Mabel tells him it’s about to start, and then on the screen appears a familiar toon deer, saying to the audience, “Hiya folks, did’ya miss me?”

After the intro is done, it is revealed that the show was created and produced by Huck Darling.
