I can't help but feel this alternate is going to end up a little worse for them than the main one. Mindes seems much more vulnerable and conflicted in this one, and I don't want to see him hurt any further by the breach of trust.
In both versions of the story, I hope he can get some understanding and help, and I'm glad he's being given the chance to be truthful in private first. I'm not ready to condemn him for using it to cope or whatever, and it would suck if he were to get swept up in something far beyond his own issues or sins.
But the stakes are too high to keep this totally personal and private. Innocent lives are on the line, under threat of unimaginable evil, with what happens there.

I think it's a mixture of both reflection and us living in the moment memories. I won't end up showing him actually confronting Mindes about the site in the alt comic, but I am in the main comic. In the main comic, I did some talking in past and present tense.
