Is is possible he forgot to compensate for Ian not being with him and didn't adjust for the lack of weight? That would be my guess. In any case unless something goes horribly bad *WHICH IT BETTER NOT!!* this is just a case of first time jitters which I think Chucky can easily deal with. :)

Corvair owners always have a few hundred pounds of toolbox, tire chains, trolley jack and just plain junk (big rocks...) in the trunk for that exact reason - Ballast. All the weight is in the back. Same thing with a canard pusher plane.
