"Time for another Good Idea/Bad Idea"
Good Idea: Make a cartoon countdown to Halloween
Bad Idea: Make a cartoon countdown for the entire month of October, November and December and totally overwork yourself...

Okay, maybe that wasn't very well thought out... guess you could say THAT was a bad idea! Eh? EHH? ...eh... it's October again, here's the countdown!

I'm sure many of you out there recall Mr. Skullhead, even if it's not by name or something well forgotten that you just now recalled by seeing this, Mr. Skullhead was a character often used in two very titular cartoons for my generation. I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find someone who hasn't seen at least one of these shows. Hell, even when it came to his inclusion in this countdown I had sort of forgotten about him until I was thinking up who would place this year and when he popped in there I got mad that I had never thought to include him previously; also, before I do anymore get used to that being said because the theme of this year may as well be "Why Haven't I Drawn Them Before?" totally unintentional I assure you but the longer I've gone on with doing specific themes for Halloween Countdowns the more and more certain characters got declined for not fitting the theme so with my abandoning that idea this year and just doing a free-for-all as it were I got the chase to put in a TON of characters I've wanted to add in for years or just characters I shockingly never thought to until now... this being a long-winded way of explaining why I did the countdown this way this year and why I added Mr. Skullhead... yeah.

I always loved the Mr. Skullhead skits and I think he's what jump started my love of skeletons and now that I think harder on it, is probably what inspired me to make my mascot of Decoy the Skeletal Boy of just being a mute, skeleton-like being. I dunno, it's possible. I think one of the things that made Animaniacs better then Tiny Toons (you know, other then like.. everything) was that Mr. Skullhead was more common place in the series besides the few Elmira skits that used him. I don't think there's much more to say on this as he literally does nothing but stand there and look derpy and get maimed and that's exactly why he's the first entry in this list. Speaking of, you may have noticed that I put him as #1 this year instead of #31 as I've done in previous years and that's because... honestly I don't fully know, I guess I just felt like switching things up. The point gets across just the same. So long as I'm helping people get their creep on, I'm happy. So, enjoy your October people, may it be a spooky one! See you tomorrow for #2.

When I was a cub, I was way (too) into Mr Skullhead and Good Idea Bad Idea. I even made (and still have) my own series of Good Idea Bad Idea comics. Definitely an obscure character; I can't imagine too many people out there - especially these days - know who it is. Nice to see someone acknowledge him.

Good Idea: Drawing Mr. Skullhead on a tablet.
Bad Idea: Drawing Mr. Skullhead on a priceless artifact.
