Here are some old 8 x 6 inch canvas paintings I did in the mid 1970s.
For the past 20 + years, I never knew where they were. When I was cleaning out that steel frame shed to ride out Hurricane Irma in, I came across them...First time I've seen them in over 20 years.
A leak in the shed did some water damage to them over the years, which they looked worse then this before I cleaned and straightened them up a bit.

BTW, the car on the bridge in the 1st pic is a 1959 Plymouth Suburban station wagon...Although I had a 1958 in mind when I made the painting, the car turned out more like a 1959...A 1958 has a multi-piece bumper like a 1957 has.

There were lots of stuff I could have posted if we had internet and artsites back in the 1970s.

I myself did paintings on sheetrock and later on canvas panels-the kind you buy in art stores- before seguing to cartooning on paper. Twenty-one years ago, I quit cartooning a private comic book, for reasons, and segued to text fan-fiction (Casper ,the ghost) until I stopped a few years ago.The books contain illustrations, collages in some even.

I was never as talented as you, or a lot of peop here. My mother did a lot of oil paintings, sketches and a few clay works. My father may have done a painting (the guest bedroom, in bed with his feet showing on the lower edge.) but I am not positive. He died 14 years ago so I can't ask him, and my mother 10 years ago,so I can't ask HER.

That was about the same time my parents and teachers convinced me I couldn't do shit. So I quit.

You have to wonder about anyone who tries to convince anyone of that...and hope they don't actually think that any good would come out of doing so.

Pic 2 -Vanishing Point,Arkansas.

That would actually be a vanishing point in Nevada, or possibly some part of Wyoming.
In the eastern flat part of Arkansas the picture would show farms and crop fields of soy beans, corn and rice patties, with occasional trees, vegetation and farm buildings.
The western part of the state is mostly mountainous and wooded with cattle fields and chicken farms (broiler houses) here and there.
