I never did this with bugs. Somehow I felt for them and if I killed any,it was always humanly.

I remember my dad use to get on us about leaving magnifying glasses laying around where the sun could shine on them. He'd tell us that a magnifying glass left in the sun unattended could start a fire (of course it has to be the right distance away to lite something up).
My dad use to also get onto us when we left sissors, a knife or other sharp object on a chair or sofa. That was because when my dad was growing up, a cousin of his sat on a pair of sissors left on a sofa and she had to get stitches on her butt.

I remember when I learned you could do this with magnifying glasses I used to try and burn pictures into the leaves.  Good memories. :)

I use to light firecrackers and matches with a magnifying glass.

Hahaha XD  That's an awesome use of it too!  For some reason I'd never thought of that even now.

Bit of a pyro child were we? *giggles and grins*

Firecrackers were always legal in my home state...So as pyro as it may be, it has always been the norm in Arkansas.

My pyromania faded long ago, logic about the dangers having taken hold.
On the return bus trip from a vacation in Florida, the  bus stopped at a South Carolina joint so passengers could stretch their legs if they chose. One guy came back on bus with a box of fireworks he bought!

In South Carolina, you can buy just about any fireworks you can buy in Arkansas.

I still have some of my pyromania. However, I'm not as wreckless with it as I was when I was young.
