both were originaly going to be in the movie, there was even gonna be an underground subcity just for nocturnals...but they had to cut bits out cause the movie just couldnt cover them all, that siad they could have still 'included' the residents of those districts int he moview without actualy visiting them, just refrencing there existence would have been enough, maybe had them show up on a map somewhere or something...i see it as an oversite ont he part of the writers...one of the very few

oh i just figured they didnt becuse haveing desing and render them would be a pain in the ass

the birds, maybe, but reptiles would actualy be 'easier' then the mamels, the fur was the most time consuming part of zootopias rendering process...they paid meticulous detail to it

more desing for reptile bc how would they do a snake or most lizards kinda thing its way easier to make a lion or otter look more humen and marketable then a alligator

Could also be that some animals just didn't evolve. We know for sure that insects didn't, because preds are still allowed to eat them in Zootopia. Also, it seems likely that fish didn't evolve either, for all the sea food eating preds, like otters.

That could have partly been one of the reasons they weren't in the movie. Though I don't see that excuse working for the reptiles, considering how much detail they put into the fur of the mammals. Birds though, yea I could see that as a reason for not having them in the movie. Budget already getting pushed, didn't have the time to add it in.

I like that they focused only on mammals. Most 'talking animal' movies try to be inclusive and add in reptiles, birds, and fish. I like the narrow focus, it's unique and it feels more realistic somehow.

That among other reasons could be the perfect motivation for a TV production. If nothing else, they'll probably create a couple holiday specials eventually like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda had.

I'm likely completely wrong about it, since I haven't actually seen the movie, but I see Sing as a sort of expanded universe version of Zootopia, so maybe we kinda got it already. In Sing, in just the trailer you cane see birds, a snail, a crocodile...

Actually, since Judy says mythological creatures that may not be a croc but a dragon or a dragon-like creature.  (I don't claim to know even 10% of the mythologicals.)

Well...actually Zootopia is on my true home planet...and well, we Nanamkens got this world from and share it, with dragons.
Also in the Galactic Alliance of Species, there are many different species, also humanoids, and creatures like griffins, etc.
And Zootopia is the place every species in the G.A.o.S. has at least one representing couple of, to show our strong united bound in peace...and were everyone can be anything.

But very funny and awesomely good drawn comic!

Oh man, really? Did he forget to buy glitter? That stuff is extra made so hide such mythology presences. So no uproar is caused (and also no trouble with the space-time-continuum)
