oooo, I can see this coming, I really can. Knowing her she may not lay a hand on her but when she tells about the murder of her mom. Also the most likely coming of an attack force as retaliation someone just might get ostracized from the village in a very big, very harsh way. In that society someone who betrays and gets people murdered gets served up in the worst way including stoning. At least in my study of such societies. It was common practice when someone brings down massive misfortune on a town and gets the only real healer in a town murdered the rest of the town could do anything from a public burning to stoning the person in question to death. Then since something like this could be looked at as a possible invasion situation by an obviously hostile force that can and will destroy them all and is highly volatile, which the cats are known as all of the above, they would leave the town in mass. Their are many records of just such actions through out time.
