This is the truck belonging to the Galvin Hyena and his wife, Ayoko, who runs one of the thrift stores in the village a couple of miles west of the home of Bron and Lacara Meerkat and sons (Galvin is shown driving the truck).
It's the thrift store that has the farmer's market, across from the grocery store and hardware store...not the one next door to the cafe'.
This truck is not only the hyena couple's personal vehicle, but it is also the vehicle they use in their thrift store business as well. Although the the truck looks as though it has been to three world wars and back, it is in good running condition with the exception it does burn some oil (rings have some wear). And being a four cylinder truck, it's pretty decent on gas mileage, which is important when you live in a poverty stricken homeland and trying to make a kawanza (Angolan dollar) go far. The hyena couple who own the truck don't complain about it's looks...Considering there are many animals who don't even own a motor vehicle, they are grateful to even have that truck.
The truck is a bit loud being that it had lost it's muffler and tailpipe a couple of years ago. The muffler and tailpipe eventually fell off during the time Galvin and Ayoko owned the truck...which now, the trucks sounds off with a noisy >BAP BAP BAP BAP BAP BAP< kind of like an old WW1 bi-wing airplane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_aJGLJaW50 ...Starting at footage 3:54 on the video.
And the bed does sit a bit lower near the cab...That is because with the front bed mounts broken down and the frame slightly bent, it was rather difficult to get a homemade flatbed to sit level on a contoured pickup truck frame (normally the front of a bed sits higher away from the frame). Part of the truck's history includes a previous owner at one time overloading the truck hauling flat-rocks, thus damaging the frame and destroying the original factory bed.
Here's how the truck looked at a time before the hyena couple owned it;
There is a video of a Peugeot 404 pick up truck in way worse condition than the one depicted here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYHPJ9d9oUk ...On footage 0:05, it sounds like the driver of the truck said, "Look how tight she runs".
LOL...I can't help but to laugh, because the truck has no radio...You can see the rectangular hole and two round holes in the dash where a radio use to be. It was the old style radio that had a horizontal analogue display with the movable orange pointer, and had an outer and inner knob on each end.

In re: the condition of the truck and that many people have to hoof it to where they are going & back, I recall Zander being told ,when he griped about his car, that some animals are not lucky enough to afford a car.
Some probably resent Zander's family for having that lovely mansion -when they live in shacks that they hammered together from discarded trash.
