The door stays open during business hours. When Kagiso locks it up in the evening, he locks the door with a chain and a padlock.
The door doesn't have a latch...Instead there is a heavy duty eye bolt bolted through the door, and an eye bolt anchored into the doorway of the masonry wall of the building. That provides a means of chaining and locking the door when the store is closed.

In pic #1 it shows that Kagiso lets the chain hang through the eye bolt on the doorway during business hours.
