Background/History

Sandra Garter was brought to Esperanza due to her expertise in Chemistry and her studies on alternative cancer treatments. She wanted to find a way to process her own venom to produce medicines. Once there, she was equipped with a pair of bionic arms to help her in her research. Shortly after the arrival of the Azulian race on Earth, she converted to their religion and embraced the Zwnite way of life.

Fantastic. Not a lot of people go to the lengths needed to make a serpent with arms believable, or even original.

I do hope to see plenty more of her in the future ^^

Very interesting character.

Normally when milking a serpent of it's venom, they squeeze the glands on the head. In her case, she could release/inject her venom without having to touch her fangs.

I actually had to look this up because I was always raised believing garter snakes were non-venomous. I can't tell you how many of these things I fooled around with in my youth!

I thought so too, so I did some Googling on it. They have venomous saliva but don't have poison-injecting fangs like a pit viper would. I saw something about them eating certain toxic newts and storing that toxin, but I wasn't sure if that was the sole source of their venom or not.

Oh, on further study, it looks like they eat poisonous newts and toads to store the toxin in their body to prevent themselves from being eaten by predators.
