#10: Cacturne
"After spending thousands of years in harsh deserts, its blood transformed into the same substances as sand. They remain unmoving during the day as so to avoid losing any moisture to the harsh desert sun and then becomes active during the night when the temperature drops in which case they will hunt down any lost travelers in ragtag groups, biding their time until their prey becomes incapable of moving due to fatigue."
Alright, down to the Top 10! It's always such a bitter sweet feeling. Hitting the real meat and potatoes of the countdown, but the unfortunate knowledge that October is rapidly coming to a close, but so is the nature of these things. So, starting out the home stretch here is none of then the "scarecrow" Pokemon itself, Cacturne and man... what a a badass Pokemon it is! Just read that Pokedex entry! No evil Pokemon, my ass! (Yeah I know I harp on it a lot, but come on! Dark-type is Evil-type in Japan for God's sake!) bio aside, Cacturne's always been a Pokemon I really liked as it's a mixture of cool things. Cacti, which while I'm not heading the cactus fan club or anything, they're admittedly cool plants and it was something they hadn't touched on in the world of Pokemon at the time Cacnea and Cacturne were made. It's a Dark-type which... I don't know if you've noticed this, but I like that typing! And it's a scarecrow, which are things I really happen to love aesthetically! How could I not like this guy? It's fun, it's creepy, it's unique, I love him!
However, 10 was about as high as a ranking as I could give it and it almost didn't make that. While I love Cacturne (do not care for Cacnea much at all, just saying) I'll admit his design leave me feeling a bit dissatisfied if only because it's lumpy and it tears away from it's overall ability to be creepy and personify the 'scarecrow' look. I'll admit I had no idea it was supposed to be one til I just read it in the Pokedex. I feel a more thin, gaunt look liek I drew it in would be much more befitting, but again that's purely my own bias. You're allowed to disagree... just know that you're wrong if you do so!
