So it turns out that my Chiropractor is a huge fan of sloths, so... I made this for him in thanks for his work on my arms.

Used to have lower back and neck troubles... The neck troubles apparently came with tinnitus. (Ringing ears... always... never-ending...) So amazing when all of that went away. Best part is, thanks to a familial bond, I got in for free. :)

There are times I wish I could just take out my spine, give it a good flexing and stretching, then pop it right back in.

I was wondering if and how he would like this.

Though lets hope he does not end up creeped out by your other awesome arts. After all he is likley a 'normal'.

just remember that chiropractors are basically witch doctors, there's no medical basis for what they do (just look it up on wikipedia) and everyone without any education can call themselves one in most countries. Also, people were paralized before because of it.

just thought I should mention it, you're of course free to continue to do it :)

this is something that always made me think that maybe chiropractors are quacks....see thing about pain as many people point out...you feel FABULOUS when a sudden intense pain fades...its caused by the endorphin rush which tends to far outlast the pain...like me for example after i get a cramp in my legs [a common enough ocurence for me, for several hours after they actualy feel beter then they did before the cramp....till the soreness sets in at least...my question would be does a chiropractic adjustment actualy help...or is it just an endorphin rush giving you a temporary feeling of wellness makeing you THINK it helped...when it realy did jack all.

Well, to answer your question, I am not dealing with endorphin rushes. I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel that was getting to the point where I couldn't draw at all. Ten minutes would cause my hand to go numb and leave me in pain for hours. I got a nerve conduction test, and they said, "There's no problems with the carpel tunnel itself, sorry." and told me to quit being an artist.

I went to the chiropractor and he said, "Most likely you either have neck damage pinching the nerve, or your muscles are cramped and pinching the nerve against the bone beneath." he looked at my neck and saw it wasn't that bad. Then he took a metal bar and applied lube to my arm, and scraped the whole arm until I was a red-purple bruise from elbow to wrist all the way around my arm. Essentially, he caused enough pressure that the cramps in the muscles were forced to release.

Since then, I have had little to no pain, no numbness, and am regaining grip strength in my hand. Each time we do it, we go longer between treatments, with the eventual goal of not needing treatments. In the last two weeks I have done about 40 hours of drawing for TrapQuest, and am still feeling pretty damn good. This is not psychosomatic.

I won't say that NO chiropractors are quacks, because some almost certainly are. But I think a growing number of them are skilled and honestly trying to help with valid science.

i don't trust chiropractors...but i trust DOCTORS even less and your story doesnt help...if your problem was 'that' damned easy to fix youd think someone who was TRAINED in medicine, studied specificly that area of the body would know....but they dont...and you wana know 'why'...cause doctors these days are trained that there are only 2 methods to fix anything...a pill or a scalple...and if theres nothing to medicate and they cant figure out where to cut they brand it 'incurable' and basicly give there trusting patient the finger.

i spent my childhood hoping from doctor to doctor, shrink to shirnk medicine to medicine and if im a little bit bitter sounding, thats why...of the medications i was perscribed only about 1 out of every 5 did anything, and those that did work the side effects were so horendus it wasnt worth it...and dont even get me started about the shrinks.

Well, any good doctor will admit that much of what they do is still a guessing game. We know more about how quantum fields work than we do about how the body does. But without doctors, I would have died at birth. Without doctors, I would not be able to draw. So... I trust them to try.
