26: Nuzleaf & Shiftry
"Nuzleaf live in holes bored in large trees of densely overgrown forests and occasionally venture out of the forest to scare people. This Pokemon will pull out the leaf on its head and make a flute with it. The sound of Nuzleaf's flute strikes fear and uncertainty in the hearts of people lost in a forest. Its long and pointed nose is its weak point. It loses power if the nose is gripped."
"Shiftry is a mysterious Pokémon that is said to live atop towering trees dating back over a thousand years. It creates terrific windstorms with the fans it holds. It's large fans generate awesome gusts of wind at a speed close to 100 feet per second. The whipped-up wind blows anything away. It was feared as a forest guardian. It can read the foe's mind and take preemptive action."
So for those of you out of the loop, here in the colorful lawless swamp that is my abode in Florida, a hurricane is a brewin' again and man... what a rough one! *coughs awkwardly as it mildly drizzles outside* So yeah, while it's pretty lackluster here now I felt with all things considered, what better Pokemon to showcase today then the pseudo-Tengu itself, Shiftry! You know, since Tornadus wasn't an option, in any case these circumstance gave this Pokemon it's time to shien, which helps as I had no idea where to place it for this line up.
I added in Nuzleaf on the soul purpose that honestly I enjoy it better then Shiftry. I like it's design better because I think Shiftry, while it's roots being tied to the Tengu make it pretty cool... there are some fugly design choices on that guy! That being the reason I so heavily altered it to, if I'm to brag on my own art design, a pretty badass looking interpretation! But yeah, I actually didn't care much for Shiftry over Nuzleaf til I realized it was based off the Tengu, though to this day I still don't understand why it's part Grass and not Flying, but hey, why is Gyarados part Flying and why is awile everything that it is? In any case, before I ramble on too much further I love how this came out, playing up the Asian vibe worked out really well.
So for those of you who are also huddled up and waiting out this "terrible storm" good luck, stay safe and watch out... because it may just be a Shiftry causing it... but it probably isn't!
