So she lived elsewhere for two years.....and was brought back twenty years ago. Dimensional time difference I presume? Also pondering the halo may indicate some sort of agelessness now. :3

im trying to think of all the diffrent worlds where halo's indicate something other then death and where armor like that exists...im coming up blank....

givven the shere volume of pop culture refrences, fourth wall breaks, and other shinanigans in this comic while i wont discount that posiblity, i find it unlikely.

Dragon Quest. In DQIX you can get armor like that. Celestians have halos and are near immortal but ARE alive. There are also PLENTY of monsters and horrors there. As for "dark and cruel" there IS a dark world where everything is in shadow. It's present in all the first three trilogies and even in the Mosnters spin off titles. In DQM: Joker series it is the origin of all monsters.

EDIT: It's also in the first Dragon Quest/ Dragon Warrior trilogy as the armor of the hero of legend. Best armor ever pretty much. THough it looks like it was combined with the Aliahan garb from 3 or the soldier/hero default where from 8.

Well I can't say anything about the armor, but a halo indicating something besides death. There's a comic called Dreamkeepers where a halo shows only when one uses their innate power.

It's a really good read, I highly recommend it.

there was foreshadowing for this in a comic previous to this one, so this one has canon to comic backing, the other ones do not at best we could see apple eden as the reincarnation of flutershy and likewise areil ace has rainbow dash's soul
and of course super surprise is a genetic and astral reincarnation both of pinkie pie
