Morelia, is the capital of the state of Michoacán. LAtely the violence in all Mexico increased but I don´t expected the violence arrive in my neiborhood, is very quiet and pacific.

Yes is a big city, with many monuments and a hug cathedral. I live near of the center of the city, on the historical zone, but damn it is the first time 2 nights happen something similar. Is kind of scary.

2 houses near of mine, the neibors hear the step and called the police. Since 2008 the violence is serious in Michoacan, but the things calm down for a while, but since the last month, in march again the things get worse, so in the nights the police is permanently patroling the streets.

So the neibors called the police and almost in a minute arrived with heavy guns and those things, but they couldn´t catch the bad guys because dissappeared on an abandoned house, after it they lost the track. They were 3 persons, carrying strings. Palkour guys I suppose. Not sure if they were armed, but I suppose yes, normally are thiefs come for money of things of great value, kill and get out for buy drugs or something like. Saddly but true.

Is something weird. So the best thing we can do is prey for nothing happen and hoping bad guys not enter in my house. However, the main danger is outside of the house, too many spies, people watching, tracking our movements, the main risk is an assault or a kidnap, we cannot trust in any people, just keep a low profile and keep the eyes open. I feel like back to 2010, when the violence was rude and the things got difficult. I feel bad for this.

you might make yourself a little paranoid over thinking it, just keep an eye out and dont overly worry, the police will keep an eye on things if they are patrolling. lock your doors. keep lights on . stay vigilant

I hope never happen something ugly, because in Mexico is not allowed have weapons, we are unarmed... but those guys enter for kill.

Yeah, we are looking what to do, my house is a fortress, is a trap for those doesn´t know it, but the real danger is on the street, and I mean an assault, a kidnap or something worse.

Right now the violence in Mexico increased again, is like back to 2010, but I never expected the violence increase in my neiborhood. If the things get worse we are consider in move. We haven´t enough money, so will be like the rest of the mexicans flee of the country, mabe no, I am not sure, but we are worried and looking for a plan B.

*Shivers* I do hope nothing happened. No wonder you're super scared. I had my excitement. Bad storm on Tuesday knocked down trees and wires everywhere. But my family was okay.

More scared, I would prefer I am worried... we are worried. For now the things are quiet, but we have the eyes open for in case something happen.

The phone is possible, but have knifes is illegal, and if I kill someone OR only hurt him I will go to the jail because I acted like a criminal and is for open an investigation.......... even if was for defend myrself. Sometimes the laws are... the dumbest as hell.

Now that you describe it, yeah that would make a lot of sense given the awful police force there. In Florida it's just natural to assume you're allowed to kill whoever enters your house XD

Maybe something like pepperspray would work too if you could afford, I suppose :P

pues esperemos no pase nada, aca en mty como que de repente tmbien se quiere empezar a descontrolar el pedo pero casi simepre hay militares o la marina en caso de algun pedo de esos. Ojala estes bien y pues aqui te reportas, saludos :c

Gosh, this reminds me of something... I just moved to new flat, and after about 3 months or so I was woken up in the middle of the night by super-loud sounds of falling furniture, breaking glass and screaming woman... Called the police, they arrived in 20 minutes but did nothing. Next morning, I found out that there's a lot of blood all over the floor and walls literally at my door. It was all like in some thriller or horror movie. Why I remembered that... Similar thing happens in Russia too now - people getting poor, and they are getting angry, more and more. God knows what could happen next, but I'm trying to be ironic regarding all this.

Damn that is creepy.

But in the case of Russia, why is happening? at least here in my country is because the mexican has a terrible president and the violence the consecuence of his bad desitions. :/

Well, same here, we also have a terrible president (and actually whole government system slowly goes nuts), but people mostly tend to blame someone else for their bad luck :) Also, add some deep social and cultural problems, like alcoholism, "criminal mentality" and generally low level of responsibility.
