I also recall a 1975 Sherlock Holmes comedy, The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother, in which Gene Wilder played the roll of Sigerson Holmes.
I've recently looked it up on Wikipedia to get the details, being it was so long ago I saw it.

I remember one funny dialogue on that movie...Sherlock Holmes and an assistant were at a social event where they were wearing tuxedos. They broke away from the event to go gain forced entry into a nearby mansion to find clues for a case they were working.
When they broke a glass pane on a door to get in, they were caught by their adversaries.
One of the adversaries asks, "What do you think you are doing?".
Sherlock answers, "Oh we're the window repairmen".
An adversary asks, "At night?...And wearing tuxedos?".
Sherlock answers, "Yes. We're a high class glass company".
An adversary asks, "Oh?"
Sherlock further says, "Our company slogan is Glass with Class".
Then Sherlock's assistant adds, "You bet ya ass".

OMG, Gene Wilder was one of my favorite comedy actors.  What I loved most about his comedy was that he always played his characters straight, like they were normal and everyone else was crazy.  His portrayals of Young Frankenstein (Frahnk en STEEN!) and Willy Wonka are two of my all time faves of his.

He will be missed.  Rest in Peace, Mr. Wilder.

*Sigh* So many actors. So many good ones all dying out. I never knew much about Gene Wilder's Movies, aside from Willy Wonka's Factory, so I don't have much to say, but It's still rather depressing.

On a Lighter Note, and my apologizes if it's rude, But how goes the Rigging?
