September is d&d bestiary month

So I think I'm going to sketch a creature a day from the d&d bestiary and I'd like your help. I need creatures ( I only know d&d in passing ) so this is what I need from you.

Does the bestiary include the monster manual? Or just player character races?

The monster manual has (you guessed it) all the different monsters and animals at the DM's disposal. Things like owlbears, hippogriffs, beholders, etc. A lot of really neat things, but a lot of weird things, too... Like I wouldn't expect you to draw a "female" mimic merchant. :P
