So as some of you may remember, I launched lick.blue a month ago to host my stories and the occasional musing or update.
Previously, I also had a Patreon for an old stylesheet I was maintaining for the poop pile that is FurAffinity. I had closed it because honestly no-one gave a shit about FA or about the custom stylesheet besides myself. I got to a point where not even I cared about the stylesheet for FA, so I hardly maintain it. Makes no sense to run a Patreon tip jar-style for something I'm not giving a damn about, yeh?
On the other hand, running my own domain does have a real cost to it.
Can I afford it? Currently, yes. It's about $48 a year for the general hosting package, currently, and ~$13 a year for the domain name. Ideally, I'll see about rolling everything that's hosted over from Surpass to Scaleway, which should save about fifty cents per month and put me more in control over what and who is on the machine with me. Shared hosting environments aren't all that good, even though Surpass has done a quite decent job over the years.

To Do: * Set up Apache 2 with vhosts, so I can point multiple domains at the machine and have them all negotiated properly. * Set up Let's Encrypt for all domains once pointed at the Scaleway rig. * Set up Stripe once Let's Encrypt is set up. :)
