Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie

Tools:
1 medium to large mixing bowl
1 whisk or the ability to summon energy spears
1 of those short spatula things, like a soft rubber mini Buster Sword
1 measuring cup, for at least 2 cups (1 cup is fine if you're willing to pour twice)
1 half teaspoon measuring spoon

Ingredients:
1 9" graham cracker pie crust (I think it's 9 inches, I didn't measure and it wasn't labeled)
2 boxes butterscotch instant pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 8 ounce tub Cool Whip or store brand equivalent (thaw it)
1 pawful butterscotch chips (use the rest of the bag to make cookies or something, I dunno)
0.5 teaspoon (that's half a teaspoon) powdered cinnamon
a thing of cinnamon sugar with sprinkle holes in the lid
love

Steps:
1. Pour the boxes of pudding mix and the half teaspoon of cinnamon into the mixing bowl and add the milk.
2. Use whisk or energy spear to thoroughly mix contents of bowl. Get all the powder off the side, it should end up pretty homogeneous.
3. Let it sit in the bowl for five minutes. Keep an eye on the pudding mix in case it tries to make a run for it.
3a. (optional) Lick the whisk, or allow a nearby human child to do so. Licking energy spears is not recommended.
4. If you got the tub of whipped topping from the grocery store just a bit ago and it's still mostly frozen, now's the time you'll want to break it up a bit, get the half frozen chunks cut down to size. Take half of the tub and shovel it into the mixing bowl with the Buster Spatula.
5. Gently fold the pudding and whipped cream together until you can't see any more streaks or chunks of white.
6. Pour the contents of the mixing bowl into the pie crust. (Remove the plastic topper first. If it's not cracked, you can use it to cover the pie later.) Use the spatula to make sure you get as much as possible out of the bowl.
7. Spread the filling until it's mostly even.
8. Clean the spatula. Optionally with tongue.
9. Spread the remainder of the Cool Whip/generic equivalent over the filling until it, too, is mostly even. This is the part that will be much harder if you didn't thaw it.
10. Arrange butterscotch chips on top as artistically or haphazardly as you deem appropriate.
11. Sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on top. Not too much, now.
12. Stick it in the fridge to cool for at least an hour.
13. Fondly regard your creation.
14. Cut the pie.
15. Share the pie with your friends and family.
16. Eat your portion.
17. Clean up the tools (or leave it for someone else to do, I won't judge).

It was!! I was worried that, since I'm not exactly an accomplished chef, combining two recipes I found on the internet in an untested way would result in a culinary disaster. But it was actually really good! Reminded Zephie of pumpkin pie.

It ended up being 90% the first recipe, 5% an addition from the second recipe, and 5% a cinnamon sugar sprinkling I came up with myself, because it seemed more appropriate for pie than sprinkling straight powdered cinnamon.

Imma try to do this. If Pie Accomplished, I will report back results.

Hooray! One more caveat: Look VERY CLOSE at the pie crust and take extreme care bringing it home. Cracks in it will make the pieces fall apart more readily when you try to serve it... orrrr it could just have been me trying to serve with a knife and fork instead of having one of those triangle spatula pie serving utensils.
