Demoralized

After how much fun I was having drawing characters on the ArtF*ck event, having one of the participants ask me to delete the art I drew for them only because they found my arts on e621 and saw the stuff I've drawn before, it's demoralizing.
I had so much fun working on the piece I made for them, as I got to test some new stuff, so it was very disappointing when suddenly they changed like a switch from loving my art to finding me disgusting just because of some silly pixels on a screen that I've drawn before.
So I don't even have any motivation to keep working on more ArtF*ck stuff. I was really liking the one I was working on currently, and now it feels like I don't deserve to finish it.
And yeah, legally I don't even have to delete it, because I didn't break any rule of the event, and I didn't draw anything the person doesn't allow. But I would rather avoid any drama, so I will still comply.
But man, being treated like that for something so mundane like a drawing... feels bad

Ouch. That sucks, but I guess it's going to happen when you're part of a controversial community. :\

Mmm... This is a reason why I avoid most events, too scared to run into such trouble or deal with a potential backlash/man hunt. Head up :3! We love your art!

its hypocritical of them to join an event and think that people wont have cub / other content like that drawn before. i understand that they dont want to have anything to do with that kind of stuff cause it can lead to judgement from others but for fuck sake they are joining an ART EVENT where ANYONE can join. if that bothers them so much then dont join.
dont let it get ya down bud. keep going! your doing an amazing job, dont let the haters and bad feelings ruin your fun!

That really hits home… I’ve gone through something painfully similar myself.

I used to be close to a group I poured a lot of love and time into when meet my first artist friend that got me into drawing, including making art, jokes, and even mentioning them in the joke book I was building with my original character. But one day, everything shifted. I was suddenly banned from their platforms, blocked across social media, and even asked to remove traces of them from my work and my (traditional) draws of their character all because they discovered certain pieces I had drawn or supported since being involved in this community.

Like you, none of it broke any rules. I never did anything inappropriate toward them or violated their consent and made sure to keep it private here (some mods scouted me out and told them). But the moment they saw certain art I had made or the fact that it was just ONE thing out of many I still enjoyed (with total acknowledgement that this is all fictional and IRL is still very wrong), it was like they flipped a switch from joyfully accepting to coldly rejecting. It crushed me. Not just because I was hurt, but because all the happiness and effort I’d put into our connection was invalidated.

What you’re feeling now from that sting of being seen as disgusting for pixels you made with love or artistic experimentation is very relatable to me and what I love to draw.

But please remember that joy and creativity you felt when making it and that there are many others who love it very much! Just because someone chooses to judge you based on their assumptions shouldn't make your work or thoughts invalid.

I genuinely hope you can still reclaim that spark and keep creating not for them, but for you and the people who truly appreciate you without conditions! <3

If it helps even a little, I still believe in your art and your right to exist as a creator without being punished for past expression!

We’re in this together :3

Stupid Twitter-for-brains.

They tell us our art is somehow immoral, but what are we supposed to think when all the feral/cub artists I know are kind and patient and all those with "moral concerns" are cruel banshees?

I think the most of us meet the feeling at least one time in our journey though cub community, unluckily is hard to make those people understand that those draws don't defines us totally, are only pixels on the internet, but the good on all this is that ate still a community that like your art (me included) and support you without judge you
So the point on this is decide what's mor important, what you like and make you happy, or what makes happy the rest?

That sucks. You shouldn't have to delete something just because someone changed their mind.

People who bind themselves to humanity's false morals will never achieve true greatness.

Meaning that you have way more support and love surrounding you, don't let one person disturb your inner peace of mind.

Functional neurons are in danger of extinction nowadays -w-

Cheer up my dear, you don't deserve that treatment. I think you did the correct, just to avoid extra drama, just hoping this doesn't happen again. If people cannot distinguish art from reality, is them who have a problem, not you. The world goes like it goes for something, too many heads but not enough functional neurons out there.

Don't let it get to you, this complete dismissal of you as a person by them for something as harmless as your art is utterly ridiculous and is not how functional adults act, if you found it enjoyable you should do it regardless! You absolutely deserve to participate as much as anyone else.
