SO I'm sure some of you are aware recently VISA/MASTERCARD Gave STEAM a LIST of games they HAD to remove from there platform because the payment providers...disagreed...with the games content...
this is because the games contained porn. Meny MENY other games on steam that contain porn were not ON this list but it is still a dangerous and STUPID precedent.
Steam of Corse FOUGHT this but they were, in the end, forced to relent or VISA/MASTERCARD would have pulled service from steam and effectively prevented untold numbers of gamers from being able to buy video games on there platform...
Now some of you might rightly be upset and some of you might be thinking "it's mostly just shitty AI slop" and your right lot of it WAS shitty AI slop..but not all of it...and thats not the point.
PAYMENT providers should be be Dictating What you can and cannot BUY especially when they control damn near a monopoly on non cash payments.
event he ACLU is up in arms about this shit and While I am not always the bigist FAN of every cause they support this is one of the good ones.

Several times I've gone to buy marijuana (which is legal in my state) and I haven't been able to because VISA gets to decide what I can and can't buy with my own damn money.... I feel like payment processors should be held to the same standard banks are. If I go withdraw 500 bucks they don't ask what I'm going to spend it on... They just fork it over no questions asked. In an increasingly digitized world we really need to hold digital payment vendors to the same cash standard (without having to give up our protections for those transactions by using debit etc,due to the inherent risk of online commerce).
