Lementing about dreaming

Does anyone have advice about having more furry dreams? =T
i ask because... this may shock you, but i almost never have furry dreams D:!

when i was like 8-12 years old, i had about a total of 10 pokemon dreams, yeah enough to actually count...
and then since like then till now? i've had maybe 6-8 total dreams when something furry happened or i saw one!

only within this last 12 months did i manage to A: have a dream about Firecat (she was rubber Lass and me and here were cleaning up a house and tossing garbage into a volcano/lava pit in the basement of it, lol.), and B: like afew weeks ago, saw myself in a mirror as my sona, buuut it was almost a bodypaint kinda thing if i really examined it closely.

I've had maybe 3-4 dreams about shippo doing kirara or kagome, and those were nice quick scenes X3

but the strangest thing? my happiest dreams are usually ending up in a mall or a store, and then realizing that and frantically looking for furry content like comic books/manga, or dvd covers. i've seen some really fantastic art :3

But yeah, aside from that? i almost never dream of full body furries of any kind =l. i assume my brain doesn't accept or process anthros T_T.

anywho, if anyone has dream advice i'd be curious to dream about it X3 this ends my random tangent! :b

That's called Lucid Dreaming. It's a hard thing to do cause most of the time when you realize you are dreaming your right side makes you wake up. Only thing I can suggest is memory and thoughts influencing your dreams. Your left side of your brain takes thoughts and what's been stored into account. Usually it's best to try and look and flood your mind with what you want to dream about.

Binge watching FNAF for example gave me a few FNAF related dreams. (Yeah probably not the best thing to dream of but still) XD

Consuming more furry content probably helps but I think we're all doing that. It seems I had a lot more of them when I was much younger and hornier and also RPing obsessively every day. Every. Day. Thinking about RP and sonas every day. Might be word magic binding the concepts into form so our subconscious can manifest it easier. Maaaybe

I'm having dreams about dolphins and dragons quite regularly, but they are usually ferals, it helps greatly to eighter read or watch some stories or animations before going to bed. I'm personally good at lucid dreaming, so once i know im dreaming, i can bring more friends to play with :D

Look up lucid dreaming. There are some things you can do to increase your chances of having them, but it takes practice. When I was in high-school, I got really good at it and could have a lucid dream about once a week. Also, you get more sexual dreams if you have some dark chocolate before bed. Another thing you can do to increase your chances is to wake yourself up in 5 or 6 hours, wake up fully, then go back to sleep. If you suspect you're in a dream but aren't sure, look at a clock, look away, then look back at the clock. In a dream, the time won't be the same the second time.

... You guys have dreams?

Nah, I'm joking, of course. Everyone has dreams, even if they don't remember them after waking up. That's what scientists say, anyway. But I don't remember mine. The last one I remembered a bit of, was, well, nsfw. I remember only about 5-10 seconds of it, maybe less. And it was about three or four years ago. Not sure if the female was furry or not (probably not).

I don't recall any dream afterwards, and the ones from before are now more of a recollection that there was some kind of a dream, but no details. In any case, remembering a dream is a pretty rare event to me. Sleeping about 4-6 hours of course has an impact on dreaming, as the actual dreams one can remember are only from the deep sleep phase (at least if I recall correctly). And not much of that can be fit in such tight schedule, especially with a lot of stress and often being very tired (which also prevents the brain from creating rememberable dreams).

Yeah, I'm one of those too. :'o) I've had some remarkably vivid furry dreams (and recalled them) so I know I'm capable of it, but it just rarely ever finds me.

if I had control of my dreams I'd be a happier person.

My dreams are random 98% of the time. Ones I can remember anyway. Only a few times a few months are they about what I want them to be, but never exact. I wish there was a way to experience dreams the way you want without waking up after revealing you’re asleep.

Dreams are basically a collective of memories, so the more of something you remember, the more the dreams will be about that particular thing. It’s really hard to explain.

In general just setting up for a good sleep is the way to go. Maybe a hot cup of chamomile tea or something before bed to really relax yourself?

I can't help you, Kit.  I can't honestly say I've EVER had a furry dream.  (Unless you count the fact that I can see scenes I write about while awake.)

I have had dreams where I knew I was dreaming.  I would tell myself to wake up (especially if the dream was a nightmare) and I would wake up in the dream but I'd still be dreaming and I'd find myself in a different situation (usually another nightmare).  Believe me, those types of dreams aren't fun.

Mentally write furry narratives when going to sleep.

It's alright, it usually doesn't bug me but in todays climate not being to dream of better can be Depressing. Thank you for the sympathies <3

I never have furry dreams.  Ever.  Closest thing is when I was swimming in a lake and a [real] alligator was trying to eat me.

Then again, I'm a chronic insomniac with total aphantasia, and also dream blind.  I'm happy to have any experience when I go to sleep, so I'm not picky about the subject.

Wait, is this a thing? XD
I don't recall having dreams about furries or creatures ever
The only times I've had dreams about a specific theme multiple times are when I've obsessed over games for too long, for example many years ago I had an obsession with Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U, and I would play it for hours on end, until I ended up having dreams about the game for three days straight and I decided to let it rest. And recently it happened again to a smaller degree with Deltarune, since I played the first two chapters in one go to refresh my knowledge then immediately played chapters 3 and 4 all the way after release to avoid spoilers, and so I started having some dreams now and then related to it

I no longer have (or at least remember) dreams. Normally that would be pretty sad, but in my case I'm actually relieved; until around 2022 or so, all of my unconscious adventures were nightmares. Lucid nightmares. Fucked up lucid nightmares. Some included were ones where I accidentally grinded my car against my mother's in the driveway—it was so realistic(I HEARD the metal groaning and felt the car lurching and saw my mother screaming and yelling at me and felt myself crying) that literally as soon as I woke up I ran downstairs and out to the driveway to look at where I hit her, only to see nothing there.

Another one was me working at a library(weird, because I never had) and I was getting cussed out and berated and outright treated like shit by multiple people because I couldn't find, and kept looking for, one book that I subconsciously knew never existed.

But one that took the cake and made me sort of glad I don't dream anymore...I have a dog. He's spoiled as shit, but he's a sweet puppy. In 2010, I bought him from a coworker who had puppies, picked him up from work, and drove him home wrapped in a little blanket/box. The reason I'm telling this story was because in 2020/2021, somewhere along that time, I had a lucid nightmare, in which I suddenly realized I brought TWO puppies home instead of one, and somehow forgot the other one in the car for ten fucking years. Ran out to the car; and of course since this is a dream, it's not a rotten decayed melting corpse like it would have been if this somehow happened....no, of course not. It was only seconds dead, barely too late for me to save him, fur just as pristine as it was newborn, body only warm from the heat of the car.That....yeah, that definitely was the last straw.

I guess that was a long and painful way to say I don't know how to control dreams. 😅

I've also never had any furry dreams, even before I started getting nightmares. I've only had two wet dreams in my life: one involving a feral Black Lab, and the other involving Denise Richards.

Still single, ladies! 😑

That's strange. I never have dreams about anything furry related, but some days ago I dreamt about something furry... but I can't remember it now. All I know it had some anthro being there

I hardly ever remember my dreams but when I do, they're typically a strong one.

Only dream I remember that could be considered "furry" was one where I moved to a small town and joined some group there. I was already joined a month before but that day was my initiation. We were at an American Legion building in the function hall, waiting. I was already bitten on my left arm a month ago and so, that night I was waiting with the guy that was sponsoring me along with everyone else. Suddenly, my sponsor calls my attention to show the fur he's growing, I look at my hands and realize I'm growing my claws. I never noticed the changes because your body goes almost numb and your insides feel like clay that's being reshaped. I start to fumble to unbutton my shirt and someone goes "leave it on, it makes a neat ripping sound when you change"  I reply that I need clothing to wear home later and everyone laughs because they didn't manage to prank me. Eventually I go to pull off my pants but instead I bend over and spit out a bunch of dental work because my new teeth pushed out all of the fillings and crowns. Finally it's over and I'm a naked werewolf in a room full of them. I pull my tail around in front of me and ask if there's anything to wear and am handed what is essentially  pair of thick leather briefs with heavy stitching. Real stiff but thanks to my strength in my new form, they move like cotton briefs. I'm sworn in to be a protector of the territory and all the people in the town. The entire town knew but these werewolves aren't mindless killers, they're experts at killing supernatural threats and they protect the town. When I moved, I was only allowed to buy property because they sensed something in me and thought I'd eventually make a good member. It was months after I moved to the town that I was approached by my sponsor, shown what was going on and the offer was made.

It's funny how vivid that dream was. I even remember memories of things in the dream that happened before the events of the dream. It's probably the only reason I remembered it.

I used to try this a lot. Managed to get a few with it, found that saying things out loud helped to contextualize a dream I would have.  Try talking out loud before sleeping with your eyes closed, as if you are talking in one of your scenes.
I managed to have a sexy time dream (totally different than what I was hoping for, but it was crazy realistic) where I was getting banged by an Umbreon, and some other situations.

I love talking about stuff like this, feel free to PM me if you want to chat more about this :)

My best advice is to keep a dream journal next to your bed, so as soon as you wake up you can write down what you dreamt about before your mind omits some if not all of it from memory (because during your sleep cycle, the majority of information that passes through your mind is handled by the short term memory section of your brain). It could be that you have been experiencing furry related dreams while you slept, but you can't remember them cause your brain's natural function to do a memory dump after waking up.

build a machine that de-ages you. get graped by a pack of dogs. then grow up haunted by the spirit of bestial lust sitting by your bedside every night (usually a very large dark long haired wolf looking creature who's breath makes you wilt with horniness). IS that furry enough?

I would never begin lucid dreaming unless I couldn't stop having nightmares, I figure after a while dreams would start to get meaningless and boring if they were always going the way you want them to. Sure good dreams can put you in a good mood when you wake up but I heard sometimes natural dreams can warn you about stuff about to happen, so if thats overrided by a lucid dream it wont be able to alert you. I don't really remember most of mine but when I was stuck without a job and a prisoner to my narcissistic family I kept having dreams of being at a carnival, it was telling me I was stuck in a cycle of cheap and meaningless thrills and missing out on more exciting and important things, aka wasting my time, I stopped having them after I escaped in 2018

I heard personality disordered people don't dream at all but idk if thats even true. Everyone sees things their own way, everyone has their own upcoming fates and everyones life situation is different so all these factors are going to effect what dreams people have. I had one dream not too long ago where I needed to pee, and I did in the dream but afterwards I didn't feel any relief, so I went again and still the same, multiple times getting confused why it wasn't working, turns out I needed to pee irl which is why there was no relief :p
