Another Year, Another Birthday

Today's my birthday, but I got hit with some really destabilizing news just a couple days before today. One of my professors at the university I attended was stabbed to death and her body was ID'd just a few days after the incident.

This is the second fatality in the music department at my university, the first one being a sudden dorm shooting that took a student's life. Back to back tragedies have put a hamper on things for sure.

So, while I will try to enjoy my birthday as best I can, my mood is going to be shot for a few weeks. I've been trying to draw where I can, but it's been impossibly slow. I can only hope I can find the time to take a step back from things to process all this shit, but with my family breathing down my neck in regards to a career and being pushed into a part-time care-taker for my grandparents . . . it's going to be very rough.
