Yeah, it could be better, but it feels like more people are tagging their images here at least than on FurAffinity. I've seen plenty of artists don't add any tags or even take the time to select the category, species and gender.

I feel like it should be less the responsibility of the moderators to tag images though and more of the artists. Because it would just lead to more lazy artists not tagging their stuff properly because they can just leave it to the moderators.

FR i love e621's tagging system so much that i used to just do it all there, then copy/paste it all to this sites shitty tagging system so i didnt have to deal with it lol, that really made it a pain in the ass to upload anything here for me.

Im sorry but if you cant spot the difference between the two you prolly just needa post on e6 and ib more often cus its actually night and day. Manually typing tegs for everything on here is for the birds, e6 actually gives you an A-Z list of related tags and you just have to click the ones that apply ezpz

Inkbunny also has tag suggestions, if that's what you mean. It may not be that intuitive to you, but you can prefer what you want after all. :D

Under the tagging text box theres a related option labled "Tags". When you click that, it automatically comes up with related tags to the ones in the box already. This site doesnt have that, you have to manually type in every single tag you can think of instead of a system that finds related tags for you, including obscure tags that you definitely wouldnt know to fill in yourself.

At this point im just telling you so that you can make your life easier, cus that tagging system is the best out of any site. But hey who am i to talk ive only been posting consistently on multiple sites for 10+ years what do i know :p

No need to be rude here please. I wasn't aware of this feature on e621 because it doesn't bother me to type out every single tag, even if it takes me a minute to do. But I appreciate that you still told me about it as it does seem to be a good feature. Now I'm wondering how difficult it is to implement it on a site that hasn't started with a tagging system like on e621. It would be nice if it were on every art site though.

What they mean is autocomplete of sorts. start typing in a tag and it'll give a list of related tags. so if you type in asshole, it'll suggest anus and replace asshole with anus.

Inkbunny does that for tag suggestions, but not for adding tags to something you're gonna post.

It gets better:  You can create custom lists of quick tags (under advanced account settings - same place as blacklist and site customizations like themes and user CSS).  Oh, and you can just have blank lines between groups of them and cut/paste the ones you plan on working the most with to the front to change order.
I do that for all tags related to Divine Acid web comic, for example.  Common tags for that comic means I can just click on the ones I want.  It turns out that the quick tags are available while uploading, but you have to already add at least one normal tag like say, artist name.  Not something like parent:xxxxxx or pool:xxxxx or other tags that do something 'special'.

That said... flip side of this is that e621 tagging is a total time-sink and is running into situation where there's more images posted to the site in last 2 or 3 years, than all the years before.  A really good resource for artists is the Wiki system, though.  I used it to show examples and descriptions of all the main characters in Divine Acid, as it gets uploaded and tagged.

What some do is just have their IB or other accounts for posting things like a soap box/personal gallery, and then use e621's search system to gain exposure from source links to receive commissions from fans.

e621 forces uncomfortable or incorrect words in a lot of tags. pretty much nowhere has a perfect tagging solution, probably not even possible since everyone has different preferences. they also force broad policies about comments and such, instead of leaving things to the discretion/desires of the artist... e621 is just okay, like here is just okay

yeah, much as I find other systems functional. there's tradeoffs to every environment and system. I had a lot of bad experiences with FA, DA, and E621, but here it's been oddly minimal, I don't fully understand why... I've watched people claim it has to do with drawing certain content yet that comes from people that draw it less and got more shit... it's all mysterious

I personally like that people here tag at least more than the people on FurAffinity, since in the latter it's rare that people even tag their images. No wonder that a blacklist system there doesn't work if no one even tags their stuff. And on Inkbunny you don't have to tag everything, the basic stuff is enough, else people just add tags for you if you let them.

About the people here, I feel like it depends where you are. I've seen similar comments on FurAffinity so I think it's just the furry fandom in general.

But you made your own experiences here and it's understandable that you want to leave because of that. Take care and I wish you the best. :D

My issues with FA are more about censorship and political bias from the staff, but yeah the cringe is..... Strong. I tend to avoid it in my circles at least. Though I have been given a strike on FA for speaking out against raping kids, which upon appeal they double downed on it. That was an experience.

I haven't made a journal about it, but while I do like ink bunny and generally I don't have a issue with cub art specifically, I've been kind of turned off from drawing it because goddamn, people get fucking weird on here.
There's something about the obsessive way some people who solely engage with it that just makes shit uncomfortable.

Also, admittedly, I don't like that this place seems to be cub art central. It's the big content driver.
I dunno, people can do what they want, but I guess I prefer variety in things.

Like, I got very little drive for it and just been focused on my adult characters mostly.
God Speed wherever you go. You make good art. I'd love to follow to see the rest of it.
