goodbye for now

Well I have not seen any actions by staff or
GreenReaper
GreenReaper
about the ai problem so I'm just not going to post here any longer. You'll have to follow me on Twitter for now, maybe join my discord (no cub stuff allowed 🙄) I don't even get views here anymore it is so over run by ai garbage. If this changes I'll see you here again.

I bet stuff can still be created traditionally that can't be pieced together with AI.

Fare well. If you ever return, I'll probably be waiting. I don't use Discord much, and I don't use X at all, so... yeah. Till we meet again!

Yeah, I was wondering whose fucking wise idea it was to allow AI art in the first place. AI "artists" are a complete blight; they get uber defensive when you call them out even in a civil manner. I'm a writer and I won't even touch Chat GPT/AI to write for me. It's just as bad as tracing/plagerism.

To me, the worst thing about this is their absolute ignorance on the fact how all of the companies operate under the paradigm of mass theft being legitimate. These are not some poor, but good start ups who got corrupted along the way, this is how they came out straight away right from the start.

There is no real debate to be had, because defending AI literally means defending exploitation, copyright abuse and invasion of privacy.

I hope you have better luck elsewhere.

But I believe your problem isn't AI. You're a good enough artist that it shouldn't be a big problem for you. For me at least the problem is that a lot of your posts just don't work as either porn or generally appealing artwork. It just doesn't quite hit the right spot for a lot of them. I hope that doesn't come off as insulting, because you're absolutely capable of excellent work, but for me a lot of it just doesn't get there.

I mostly go by "new submissions", so whatever amount of AI might be on the front page makes no difference to me.
BizyMouse

The issue is that my 4200 watchers is no longer enough to overcome all the ai spam in people's feeds in order to reach the popular page. Not that you specifically don't like my work. Next it will be 6000 watchers that isn't enough, then 9000 watchers, and so on until only ai is on the popular page. You can chart this trend out it is simple mathematics.  I'm not sticking around a website ran by people who hate artists.

It's shocking how many of them there are. If I go into the popular submissions each page is like 50% blocked for me, and almost all of them are AI trash.
Balmung

You do whatever works best for you of course, if posting somewhere else works better I am not going to argue. And I agree that it would be best to have separation in popular.

I'm just saying that if more views is what you want, I think the problem is more that your recent posts aren't that high on mass appeal. There's nothing wrong with that, you do whatever makes you happy. But if maximizing views is what you want, some kinds of content are unlikely to get you there.

While I do appreciate AI, I must admit that I concur with your point. I'm not opposed to it either; I simply wish that Inkbunny could create a separate subsection exclusively for AI-generated content to prevent it from mixing with handcrafted creations.

Same. I stopped uploading and asked some firm questions of
GreenReaper
GreenReaper
and he refused to answer them. Namely:
"Can you 100% assure that the art made by my deceased friend is NOT being fed into and used by the machines that these non-artists are using?"

No answer, and until "AI" is banned here, yeah, no image posting from me or my friends

Then boycott the fuck out of any place that allows AI. THAT will get them to address the issue.
TriasTheDinoArtist
1 year, 7 months ago
We do and fortunately the stigma seems to be starting to catch on. However I will still remain making the correct argument on the issue. Which is not that AI art looks bad, but that the very basis of it even works is immoral, exploitative and abusive.
GreenPika

I agree it is destructive and exploitative among other things but I disagree that it looks good. It only looks good for a minute, then you start noticing all the fucked up AI stuff lol: https://inkbunny.net/j/492365-GreenPika-ai-art-the-stan...

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying that; my point is that I am not arguing the looks of it at all, that's what I meant :3
GreenPika

ah I see. I agree. The point of the boycott is not looks, it's impact and ethics.
TriasTheDinoArtist

Right. You see, I bet you can get some very nice looking things out of slave labour, as much as you can steal some very pretty things.
Doesn't change the fact that it's theft or slavery~
GreenPika
1 year, 7 months ago
Indeed. Most people don't realize, some of the most beautiful impressive things to see in the world, were built with stolen livelihoods. Whether it be straight up slaves or funds extorted by force from the people. It's amazing what one can accomplish when one cheats.
TriasTheDinoArtist
1 year, 7 months ago
Exactly. I find it morally wrong to encourage this sort of behaviour, especially when it comes from rich silicon valley elitists.
GreenPika
1 year, 7 months ago
Could not agree with you more. Now the world of visual arts is starting to experience what us musicians have been suffering under for 2 decades: Elitist technologically enabled theft and exploitation at the hands of petty posers and fakers.
GreenPika
1 year, 7 months ago
It's a phase. Once people realize how shite and recycled AI art is, there will be a renewed interest in actual art.
TribalDragon
1 year, 7 months ago
that's what I think, every AI post on this site is cookie cutter shit from the same stuff copied from others AI posts
GreenPika
1 year, 7 months ago
Indeed. If you knew how much modern music was the same cookie cutter bullshit, you'd probably be sick of that too XD lol. I think with visual art it's more easily spotted though.

I'm not a fan of the AI stuff.  So I support you.  I'm sorry to see you go, but it is your decision.   I wish you well and thanks for sharing your arts with us.

your upset over AI art Work? why? that art has the right to exists just like traditional art but its fo unrefined tho i seen series of AI work and it fucks up alot on it missing stuff or something just small but nothing ofcourse beats the art the others make by hand theres more feeling and care for that kinda art work from some artists but AI is nothing wrong with i seen some AI art work here but i wouldent say its over runned by it maybe take a chill pill and relax abit? AI art is Art just without feelings in it
TriasTheDinoArtist
1 year, 7 months ago
Exactly. It's not like literally every t-shirt in the store was produced by child slave labour in east asian sweat shops. Besides, those t-shirts can actually look very pretty, therefore there is nothing to be criticised about them existing. Think of the poor manufacturers who just want to make some cash.

I check my submission or whatever it is watch feed thing weekly. Always have and always will. But yeah. Had to unwatch some individuals who started to post a bunch of ai art. I'm fine if someone uses it to create like a background, like a coffee scene. When something else is in the foreground. But otherwise. Nah.
