I changed my commission payment rule to advance. It was later payment after I send a initial sketch, but some people didn't pay and run away. So I'm afraid but changed payment rule to advance.
This is why I think this should be a must rule for majority of artists since it's really hard to trust a stranger
unless of course you know this person so well, then that might be an exception, some people who I worked with before let me pay half & the other half once it's finished, because they knew me so well & have worked with me few times

Hey No Problem, if you are going with the half payment, I advice to let them pay in advance for the LineArt/Sketch, After you send them the LineArt/Sketch, you can tell them that you won't continue finishing the coloring, until they send the other half
So this way even if the client fails to send the second half, you still got the payment for the Initial Piece, But that doesn't mean the client isn't unprofessional for doing this
I Still think that a Full Payment in advance is better Oh & I took a look at your page, have you thought of Adding a Terms of Service? it might really helps, & I think it will make the client can't complain if they break your terms of service

You can have a big signature over the sketch too, so it makes it harder for the stealers to edit/use the art in the first place! I am sorry this happens at all in the first place of course ;v;
