Inkbunny over FurAffinity any day

by
So in the past year, I’ve been quite honestly not on FurAffinity as much as Inkbunny. Although a lot of my favourite artists are on FA, several of them and other newer ones are on Inkbunny almost exclusively. And I think my preference has a lot to do with the format.

To make a wildly ineffectual analogy: FurAffinity is a lot like using a PlayStation, or an Apple Macintosh computer. It’s impressive for 2005, but as time goes by you realise that it is becoming clunky and outdated very quickly. Although FA updated a few times since its creation in 2005, it never really got a big overhaul in a few important places, like user interface and text format compatibility. And you still can’t submit multiple files on one post.

Inkbunny is like using an Xbox, or a Windows XP computer. You’re like ‘Holy crap! You mean I can actually do stuff with this? And submit multiple files on one post? And the notifications are organized with little graphics to be extra neat?’ It was impressive in 2010 and is still impressive almost 9 years later. And the changeable background and ‘ink bunny’ logo are a nice touch.
Plus, the community on Inkbunny is smaller and there just aren’t as many trolls or pearl-clutching pissants bringing the mood down and being little knob-goblins about every little thing they happen to dislike. The operating logic with this latter group seems to be: “I don’t like that fetish! So I am gonna bitch and complain about it and petition to get it banned because I don’t like it.” Whatever happened to: “If you don’t like it, don’t click on it!”?

But I blame the aforementioned phenomenon on brain-dead idiots like SonicFox who get on stage at big events and grandstand about how somehow ‘being gay and furry and a gamer’ makes him better than the rest of red-blooded hominids, and thus giving all people who enjoy cartoon animal art a bad name, and attracting the decayed underbelly of society into the furry-dedicated websites with all their untreated neuroses in tow.

Now granted, Inkbunny is newer than FurAffinity and had something to build off of. And FA was miles better than Yiffstar, if any of you remembers those pre-FA days. And better than waiting 10 minutes to load Actaeon’s Geocities website or Nanimoose’s Smut Emporium over dial-up Internet and dread the phone bill at the end of the month. Just dated myself there, hahaaa! X3

I really have to agree. In terms of functionality, I think IB is by far the superior site. I like that it lets you block keywords, too, which helps you avoid content you don't want to see. Though I like to think I'm mature enough not to give people shit about it either way. I haven't had that bad an experience with the community on either IB or FA, but then I kinda mostly stick to the same smallish circle of friends and commenters and don't often stick my oar into debates or anything. While I do have definite opinions on things like politics, and follow it closely, I've always felt hat my time on furry sites was more for having fun and bringing a little joy to other people's lives. If I wanna go on a crusade, there are more appropriate places to do it. Again, not that I'm gonna give anyone any trouble over discussing it, either. I don't wanna censor!

I wish more people thought like you. If I'm not getting gay dudes going 'Hey. Your wolf is cool, let my character stick his pee-pee in your poo-poo, do you RP?', I'm getting 'I can't believe this politician said this, omg so triggurrd duurrr' on FurAffinity. I thought the whole point of furry sites was to escape the daily BS, not regurgitate it like week-old cud.

Haven't experienced it on Inkbunny, though. It seems this site is more select, could be because it's not as well known in the mainstream.

Next up: Inkbunny Vista! 😸

Actually, it's kinda true - we've been working on suggestions-on-+fav, which has big CPU usage implications (albeit on our end). However, the newer versions of our database, PostgreSQL, allows us to spread that over our 24 CPU cores, which helps.

I definitely agree that inkbunny is better, literally I published an image of cream the rabbit and they repeatedly called me pedophile and well I left and did not go back in because it simply seems boring to me and it is not for people like me

FurAffinity went to shit around 2013 or so, and it's run by two sanctimonious assholes. And they never bothered to optimize the interface. It's still stuck somewhere in 2008.

This comment is a year old and continues being correct. No blacklist, gifs don't work at all on the site now, and they want you to PAY for better upload quality. XD
