I told you about Tumblr!

by
Haa-ha! Welcome back to the real thing, cloppers and yiffers. And enjoy this place where free speech is respected, unlike this abominable safespace. Seriously, don't mourn it, Tumblrinas will stay there and will argue it's better without the 'toxicity' of Erotic Art.

Because let's not forget you all are artists. Now this site has exploited you and your content with ads and telemetry, they just throw you out prior to satisfy the enforcement of political correctness.

Oh looks who's talking ...I should upload some stuff here!

Indeed. I'll have this quote of you in the mind for the rest of the day.
"Time Kills Webspace."

For sure, the whole reason more than half of us are on Inkbunny is because we were harassed and bullied off of FA when they started purging our art. That lead to people trying to see what other stuff they could ban and people were getting kicked for any kind of art people didn't like. Ah well, like Timone said, "When the world turns it's back on you, you turn your back on the world."

Same goes on with Facebook, Youtube and Twitter and their enforcement of some political ideology, and censorship of serious topics. Hopefully there's alternatives like Gab or Minds, but people in general are bonded to these e-sects that treats them like shit, because they prefer the safety of not going outside and abiding to the rules, even if they know, goes against themselves.
The majority of humans are weak and think being on a huge community is more important than being an individual. And this is a worrying, or rather scary aspect of human psych.

For sure, I don't like dealing with any of that stuff. I refuse to fight in a war that was started by someone else's ego. I block most of that stuff on youtube and just stick to the music I like to listen to and tutorial videos. Facebook I practically blocked on my computer, and I'm hesitant about Twitter, there's too much going on there lately that I'm like "I don't want to be part of this at all, I just wanna make cute art and share it with my friends."

You'd think after 10,000 years we'd think back and realize "Dang...the stupid things we kill each other over..." but alas, this era proves that the world isn't good enough if there isn't some kind of fighting going on. If that's how they wanna play, then I'll just keep my doors locked and keep doing my own thing. The day I die is the day I physically can't draw anymore, not the day some fool tells me I can't and expects me to abide. (Said as I wear a cast on my right arm. If that won't stop me, words definitely won't. Hehe!)

Aye!
FB/Twitter's cookies are a nightmare, myself I only use some spare browser on private mode to check it when necessary... but it's just ..Void.

Also as of recently over 60 million videos have been banned or vanished from YT since the beginning of events here in France. That's clearly censorship. But if people ignore the existence of other sites like RUtube, Dailymotion... it's pointless.

The goal of the Web was to spare us from centralized media and acquire information.

Exactly! The more we see what's going on, the more we can make decisions for ourselves, but not if the majority of information is presented in a way that encourages people to be told how to think. There's just too many cases of people only thinking things because others tell them to or that's "what group they're part of thinks". And the more they fall into that net, the easier they are to control. That's exactly what influential people want as it's the most viable way to ensure a mass of millions of "free thinking individuals" are still under the command of a small handful of people. Course, that's on them usually, but when it does impede on our freedom and the arguments seem one sided, or two sided, or morally gray but treated as black and white, people make the more violent assumption and instead of educating or understanding, go on an assault, which circularly causes these knee jerk reactions (I still can't believe Tumblr is banning half of their users because Apple was born without balls and thinks everyone else should be castrated too.).

Still, as an individual, thankfully I'm smart enough to not fall for these tricks. I'll stay aware of what's going on, but I refuse to go into debates online cause it's always pointless in the end. I just wanna focus on building stuff and making my visions come true and thankfully there are many videos out there that help me do that, like the countless blender tutorials that help me with 3D art.

Gab isn't for freedom of speech, though. The founder is all about virtue signaling, just for the opposite side.

I did some research on this. This may have been a combination of two things:

1: Tumblr is trying to get back in Apple's good graces after they were banned from the Apple store last month when child porn was found on the app by doing a broad ban on ALL porn and then automating the system to avoid doing the hard work of moderation. The system is easily fooled, however, and comes up with a lot of false positives while not banning much of the porn, child or otherwise.

2: This may have been in the works for a while now, as Verizon, who owns Tumblr, may have been oversold on the amount of money Tumblr was expected to bring in every year. Tumblr didn't even make $15 million a year at their height, the founder of Tumblr claimed it would make over $100 million a year by 2015, and sold Tumblr to them for one billion. That means Verizon would have to keep Tumblr in service for over half a century before they could even start to make their money back as opposed to just 10 years with the overprojected value. Tumblr makes its money the same way Facebook does, through sponsored and targeted ads, but to a much lesser degree because Tumblr accounts can essentially be anonymous.

Honestly, part of me has been waiting for this and wanting a good excuse to leave that hellsite for ages now. Just got so hooked on the interactivity and the style of that feed for so long, y'know? Plus a lot of folks used it almost exclusively to host their art, which was frustrating. And unfortunately everyone has scattered every which way now, including the vast majority just sliding over to Twitter, which, if anything, is worse.

So it's sad to know I'll be missing out on some folks. But this whole shenanigan was a necessary pain. I think it's for the better that Tumblr's going down in flames.

And man am I glad IB is here.

...you know that none of the tumblr userbase wanted this, right? The vast majority has been doing nothing but trying to stop it but alas that's impossible because it's fucking Verizon, but you don't give a shit because long ago you decided these tumblrinas you hate are behind everything and they're there to take away everything you like including your Freeze Peach, right?

They wanted this as soon they clicked on 'register'. Just like the Facebook users consent their data and activity to be exploited, or the mac/windows 10 users agrees to the EULA by not reading it, or some does, but they technically break the rules. Myself I'm breaking the rules and if users decided to have more solidarity than submission, more respect for their constitutional rights, more respect for their artists, nothing of this would happen. But again, we're talking Tumblr.

how dense are you

this all happened because of the rampant lack of moderation and the recent SESTA laws, it has nothing to do with the users

You can't blame the 'evil leftist monsters' for this one, sorry!

A lot of the censorship prior to this was due to corporations not being able to make a lot of money if family unfriendly content that could not universally appeal was around and dominant (the whole youtube adpocalypse was not a leftist plot, it was literally capitalism in motion), this latest move is due to pressure from Apple as well as an act signed into law by Trump - SESTA/FOSTA and our relatively corporate-friendly government that is apt to providing half-assed solutions to serious problems and wondering why nothing gets better.
