Rite of passage

Got me a suspension on FA, so I won't be able to answer notes or stuff over there for a bit.

However, I am pretty surprised as to the mechanism behind the suspension.  FA seems to have some kind of feature where a suspension doesn't actually go into effect until there's some kind of trigger.  Just a few minutes ago I was able to access my page and browse FA with no issue, but it was only once I posted a comment that I was instantly suspended (ie, the comment did not go live and nobody read it).  Now I'm completely locked out and can't see or do anything.

I was kind of under the impressions that suspensions went into effect immediately.  Having a "delayed fuse" of sorts is... kind of strange and sounds very much like it could lead to a lot of technical headaches.

BTW, don't complain about people blocking you for no reason.  It figures that one of the few times in 11 years I splurge and act like a jerk, I get the ban hammer immediately.  Has to happen to everyone at some point, I guess.

I got suspended on there once. Then I got permanent ban. And then it was lifted.
I've never had any problems with Inkbunny.
Yet people prefer using Furaffinity. It's confusing.

It depends more on your audience than the staff, I guess, and I'm not the kind of person to seek out drama.  Being on FA has been a lot of fun for me, and as much as people trash FA, I've had virtually no problems there.

I will say that the place has gotten crazier since the IMVU buyout, and I trust the admins less since then for various reasons.  But, I'm under NDA, so I can't talk about it.

It stems from the time I wanted to join the staff (tech team).  I volunteered to maintain the legacy code while the "real" programmers worked on Ferrox.

What I can tell you is that after I was accepted, I received plenty of promises that they would set up a coding account for me, but it never happened.  I spent two years twiddling my thumbs (with regular prodding) waiting for those guys to get in gear.  When the IMVU buyout happened, I finally gave up and left without a peep, since I no longer felt comfortable doing work for free.  I was on the tech chat channels and know a lot about what's going on behind the scenes, but never had access to the code.

Dragoneer isn't a bad guy, despite how much everybody dumps on him.  I enjoyed talking to him and I actually feel he wants what's best for the community.  Nonetheless, he does not have the management skills to get stuff done.  He tries to do too much stuff himself rather than be a leader and delegate responsibilities to the right people.

I'm gonna second this. Other than posting cub art, I'm not sure what you could do to get banned there other than outright harassing someone.

I have mixed feelings.

In a slip of judgement, I did violate one of the site rules.  I admit that, and a 24-hour suspension is perfectly fair.

However, my opinion is that the rule in question, "block evading", is total bullshit.  Stating a fact publicly shouldn't count as harassment.

here here but if you check her and her friend's accounts they are(were?) banned, wiped clean and she also left from here as well, for (drumroll pls) stealing commissioners money and never giving them art :D so she got her karma don't worry

Why did they ban you? This is so weird, I never read any wrong or bad comment in your profile or even your journals. And I don't see any pic on your gallery for suspending you.... what's going on?

4th paragraph in my journal.  Complaining about somebody blocking you qualifies as "block evasion", because the person in question might actually end up seeing your complaint when the didn't want to.

Yeah, it was dumb on my part to go there, but still, no doubt the context of the thread I was in (transgender discrimination) pushed the admins over the edge.  I believe lots of people got suspensions just for commenting in that thread.

Meh.  FA has suffered months of downtime in all the years I've been on that site.  I think I can survive not accessing it for a whopping 24-hours!

Congrats to  getting your initiation ban on FA, now you are really a real furry online~

I kid, but yeah blah blah FA sucks blah blah, circlejerk circlejerk circlejerk, but while you say Dragoneer isn't a bad guy, I will say that he runs shit with emotions way to much to be good at managing shit, like him and his staff run shit like high schoolers running a school club, 100% unprofessional, 100% lacking in awareness, and 100% do not care about anyone who isn't in I guess the top 100 popular furries club. I had some dude harass me for months, and then make new accounts after he got a suspension and harass me there too and when I reported him for block evasion, suspension dodging and harassment they just banned his alt account and unsuspended his main and he is still doing stupid shit and stalking people and still getting reported. This is them being lazy on making the rules be followed by everyone, which is bullshit, if I were one of their sponsoring poppy furs I wouldn't have had to put up with that shit but since I wasn't I had too. The staff there aren't good, they don't do their job, they don't fix major bugs, they don't take care of disciplinary anything, they don't care. It is a terribly run site that needs a major overhaul of admins/staff.

Last point to be made that its run by high schooler mentality people, running a high school club, is the fact that Dragoneer made his now EX-WIFE a head admin because she was with him in a relationship. You don't do that in business, you just don't.

Actually she left him for some dude who runs a bronycon thing. And she is STILL an admin even though she was a terrible addition to the staff team, but honestly it seems like she only hooked up with Neer just to boost her own status like how she is now with that brony dude who she allegedly cheated on Neer with, again all rumors and allegations here.

That was their judgement, but I don't fully agree with it.

I mentioned that somebody blocked me, but the comment I posted was related to the thread, not the individual.  Merely pointing out the fact someone blocked me without provocation should not count as harassment.
